This is the third installment in Topware's Gold Games series. It contains 23 games (one game less than Gold Games 2) on 24 CDs. Like usual, it has games from many different genres. And like the predecessor most games are in German.

SSI Classics

People's General

A classic SSI game suing the Panzer General game mechanics applied to a late Cold War era conflict against a Chinese/North Korean coalition.

Panzer General

You are the brightest and best of the new Axis generals in the Second World War. Your tactical skills will be tested in armored assaults, amphibious invasions, paradrops, naval engagements, and fierce aerial combat for control of the skies. Go from triumph to triumph, invading and seizing the capitals of Great Britain, the Soviet Union, and ultimately the United States of America on your way to conquering the whole world! Can you achieve a place in history?

Panzer General 2

Will you fight as a Wehrmacht Officer, or perhaps lead your comrades in the Soviet Army? You may want to hit the beaches at Salerno and Normandy as an American or British General. No matter what path you choose, you will need all your skills to triumph. The successful Panzer General devises sound strategic plans, and carries them out with unswerving commitment. Generals who are indecisive inevitably fail. Can you forge a battle-winning command and conquer your foes? Isn't it time to find out?

Fantasy General

Fantasy General is a turn-based strategy game based on a traditional hex map. The game is situated in a fantasy world. The player can play either a scenario or a campaign. There are two sides, Good and Evil, each with unique units. In campaign mode, the player selects a heroe and his goal is to defeat the Shadowlord and his four generals. The game ends with the final defeat of the Shadowlord at his Fire Isle.

Pacific General

Pacific General is a simulation game set in the Pacific theater of conflict in World War II, pitting the Japanese Empire against the combined might of the Allied forces. In this game, it is possible to take either side in the conflict, which can be played from the dawn of combat in 1937 through to the historical or hypothetical outcome(s) of the war. Land, air, and naval operations play a key role in the battles to be fought.

GeneRally

GeneRally is a simple, moddable, top-down arcade racing game for 1-6 players - available for free. The game was originally developed by Hannu and Jukka Räbinä.

The game is heavily inspired by older arcade racing games, particularly Slicks 'N' Slide. PC Gamer described it as "A minimalist Micro Machines".

The game has an included Track Editor, which allows users to easily make their own tracks to race on.

Panzer General: Allied Assault

This is a newly developed game in the Panzer General series for Xbox Live Arcade.

When wargame giant Avalon Hill and then-current computer game publishers were not interested in his first title, Joel Billings had to found his own company to publish and distribute his computer wargames. SSI was the dominant force in computer wargames from then (1981) into the early 1990s, holding its own against Avalon Hill's own efforts and other competitors. 
 
In the mid 1980s, two of SSI's more prolific developers left to form their own company, SSG. The split appears to have been at least as much a result of the two living in Australia as of any business or creative reasons. 
 
In the late 1980s, SSI signed a deal with TSR, Inc., to publish official Dungeons and Dragons computer games. The "Gold Box" D&D games took the company in new directions. Although SSI never stopped publishing war games, the D&D license quickly became the main source of income and produced their best-known products. 
 
The loss of the D&D license to Interplay was the swan song for SSI as an independent company. No longer dominant in their original wargame market and suddenly without their primary franchise, the company was acquired by Mindscape in 1994. It changed hands several times after that - from Mindscape to The Learning Company, Mattel Interactive, The Gores Group and finally to Ubi Soft. Ubi Soft used the SSI logo and name on some of their titles, including Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor and Destroyer Command, but has since retired the brand.
