In 1994, Gremlin Graphics Software was renamed as Gremlin Interactive, now concentrating on the 16-bit, PC and console market. Gremlin enjoyed major success with the Zool and Premier Manager series in the early 1990s, and then with Actua Soccer, the first football game in full 3D; other successful games included the Lotus racing series; a futuristic racing game, Motorhead; a stunt car racing game, Fatal Racing (1995); and the 1998 flight simulator Hardwar. Following EA's success with the EA Sports brand, Gremlin also released their own sports videogame series, adding Golf, Tennis and Ice Hockey to their Actua Sports series. During this time, they used a motif from the Siegfried Funeral March from Götterdämmerung as introductory music.

Gremlin Interactive

Interplay Productions was founded by ex-Boone Corporation employees in October 1983. They started with relatively small projects such as software conversions and even military contracting. It would be from 1984 that they would start to create text adventures along with Activision.

The company would eventually go in more ambitious and original ventures such as Wasteland, which would become the foundation of its much better known successor nine years later: Fallout.

Down the line, Interplay would start to publish games from other developers that would earn the respect of players around the world: EarthWorm jim by Shining Entertainment, and Baldur's Gate by BioWare.

n 1998, Interplay's financial issues went dire. The company threatened to be placed under bankruptcy due to status in the banktruptcy court. To avert bankruptcy, Interplay went public on the NASDAQ stock exchange under the name Interplay Entertainment.

Interplay Productions

Founded in 1983, Interplay Entertainment is a developer, publisher and licensor of video game software headquartered in Southern California.

Interplay originally published successful titles in the Role-Playing Game (RPG) genre, including hits like Fallout 1 & 2, Planescape: Torment and the Baldur's Gate series.

They have produced and licensed titles for many popular interactive entertainment software platforms in the action/arcade, adventure/RPG and strategy/puzzle categories.

Their portfolio includes Battlechess, Clayfighter, Dark Alliance, Descent, Earthworm Jim, Freespace, Giants, Messiah, MDK, Run Like Hell and Sacrifice amongst others.
