Lethal Weapon

Game Boy port of Lethal Weapon, which is based on the NES version.

In this game, based on the movie series, you can play as Martin Riggs or Roger Murtaugh to complete four main missions, before taking on a final bonus one. For each mission you can choose the appropriate character. Walking around, jumping and swimming, kicking or shooting the opponents you have to stop the crimes in your beloved L.A.

Firstly, you have to stop drug dealers who want to transport their money from the dock, where you infiltrate. Secondly, you have to stop suicidal terrorists, who entered the subway. Thirdly, you have to defuse a bomb, planted by another terrorist group in the mall. Fourthly, you have to sneak into an office complex to free a hostage, Leo Getz. And finally, you have to find out and stop an ex-police sergeant, who is supplying armor-piercing bullets to local criminals.

The Atari ST version is identical to the Amiga version except for sound and music due to hardware.

SNES and Nintendo Super System version of Lethal Weapon.

Commodore 64 version of Lethal Weapon with re-designed levels and only able to select the two playable character at the start.

Cancelled version of Lethal Weapon for the Sega Master System. Only the music for it has been found.

The DOS port of the game features different graphics and different HUD. This port also has no sound besides just music.

Ocean Software Ltd was a British software development company founded by David Ward and Jon Woods and was based in Manchester. Ocean developed dozens of games for a variety of systems such as the ZX Spectrum, Oric 1, Commodore 64, Dragon 32, MSX, Amstrad CPC, Commodore 16, Atari ST, Amiga, PC, BBC micro and video game consoles such as the Nintendo Entertainment System, Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Master System and Sega Genesis.

Woods and Ward created Spectrum Games as a mail-order business in 1983 after being inspired by the success of Liverpool based software houses Imagine Software, Bug Byte and Software Projects. The company was renamed Ocean Software to avoid confusing owners of systems other than the ZX Spectrum. In 1996, Ocean Software merged with French publisher Infogrames, remaining a separate division publishing their own games until 1998, when they were rebranded to Infogrames United Kingdom Limited.
