Sega Classics Arcade Collection 4-in-1

Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection

The compilation features 48 Sega games (49 counting two versions of Altered Beast) which were previously released for the Mega Drive/Genesis (including most of the Sonic the Hedgehog titles released for the system), arcade and Sega Master System. It is similar to the Sega Genesis Collection released previously for the PlayStation 2 and PSP, however it contains 16 (in NTSC regions) more games (including unlockable extras).

6-Pak

6-Pak is a compilation of Sega Mega Drive games released in June 1995, during the console's decline. The cartridge contains 6 of Sega's most successful games from the early days of the system; Sonic the Hedgehog, Golden Axe, Revenge of Shinobi, Streets of Rage, Columns and Super Hang-On. The in-game menu features digitized box art of the original games. It also came with a 67-page manual that contained the complete instructions for all six games. Interestingly, the artwork used on the box for Columns is not from the Mega Drive version, but instead the Sega Master System edition of the game.

Mega Drive Twin Pads

The Mega Drive Twin Pads is a Mega Drive "console on a chip" originally produced by AtGames for the Asian market with 5 built-in games and distributed in Europe by Blaze Europe with 10 games. One of the two game controllers plugs directly into a television, however it will only output a PAL signal. There is no cartridge slot, so you are limited to the 10 games. Four AA batteries are needed to operate the console.

The European version of Mega Drive Twin Pads has more games than the one released in Asia.

Mega Drive 4

The Mega Drive 4, also branded as the Mega Drive 4 Guitar Idol, is a Mega Drive "console on a chip" which was released by Brazilian company Tectoy in October 2009 as a follow-up to the Mega Drive 3. The first version had 87 built-in games, some of which are not Mega Drive titles specifically, and does not have a cartridge slot for playing other games. It also comes with two control pads which attach to the console via two DE-9 ports, as they would in a traditional Mega Drive, plus a guitar accessory for playing the Guitar Idol game, which is overtly based upon the Guitar Hero games.

The game Pense Bem is said to count as 10 games in the general counting.

Mega Drive 3

The Mega Drive 3 is a Mega Drive "console on a chip" which was released by Brazilian company Tectoy in 2008. It has 86 built-in games, the majority of them being regular Mega Drive games, with some licensed from Namco and Taito, but also includes four ports of mobile games originally by Electronic Arts, as well as various original games that were also seen on other similar "consoles on a chip", and does not have a cartridge slot for playing other games. It also comes with two control pads which attach to the console via two DE-9 ports, as they would a traditional Mega Drive.

Mega Drive 3: 81 Super Jogos

Mega Drive 3 (2007) is a "console on a chip" Sega Mega Drive distributed exclusively in Brazil by Tec Toy. It was marketed with 81 games, without a cartridge slot.

The Mega Drive 3 is a "console on a chip" manufactured by Lite Star in 2000 for sale in Asia. According to the system itself, it was manufactured under license by Sega, though the production values are very unprofessional. The following year it was released in Japan as the Mega Drive 21.

The console doubles up as a controller which can be plugged into a TV, and the unit itself is a similar shape to the Tectoy Master System Handy. Rather than have a cartridge slot, it contains 20 built-in Sega Mega Drive games (though in actuality, there are only 8 - the rest are duplicates). The system is sold in a number of colors, including transparent-green and transparent-purple.

Columns III

Arrange the blocks of jewels falling from the top of the screen. If three or more jewels of the same colour are lined up vertically, horizontally, or diagonally, they disappear. Don’t allow them to pile up to the top, or you will lose the game.

Columns II: The Voyage Through Time

Columns II: The Voyage Through Time is the sequel to the Sega puzzle game Columns. It was only released in arcades in Japan until it was later ported to the Saturn under the title Sega Ages: Columns Arcade Collection.

Sega Ages 2500 Vol. 7: Columns

This game is an upgrade of the original 1990 arcade release of Columns.
The games were released out of order for some reason — this one was released a few weeks before Volume 6, unless Sega, 3D-Ages, and SCEJ all accidentally switched the dates on both their websites.
This game include an "original mode" (which is practically identical to the arcade release) and an updated mode, sporting pre-rendered 2D graphics and various visual and audio upgrades. There is also a versus mode where you can play against the computer, otherwise it is not too dissimilar from the original version.

Columns is a match-three puzzle video game created by Jay Geertsen in 1989. Early versions of the game were ported across early computer platforms and Atari ST. In 1990, Jay Geertsen sold the rights to Sega, who ported the game to several Sega consoles.

The LCD version of Columns is an handheld game published by Bandai in 1997 as part of the Mame Game series.

Marigul Management Inc. was a Japanese corporation created and jointly owned by video game company Nintendo Co., Ltd. (40%) and media company Recruit (60%). Its name is a combination of Nintendo's mascot Mario and Recruit's mascot Seegul.

Marigul was founded because the Nintendo 64 was not getting enough third-party support. Marigul would provide financing, to let game studios focus on making games. The only condition was that the studios would have a game ready in five years.

Subsidiaries included Saru Brunei and Clever Trick.

Media Factory (メディアファクトリー, Mediafakutorī), formerly known as Media Factory, Inc. (株式会社メディアファクトリー, Kabushiki gaisha Mediafakutorī), was a Japanese publisher and brand company of Kadokawa Future Publishing.

The company was founded on December 1, 1986, and was a subsidiary of Recruit Co., Ltd., based in Shibuya, Tokyo. Media Factory was possibly the first anime distributor to ask for sites to not link to fansubs of any anime produced by the company. On October 12, 2011, Media Factory was purchased by Kadokawa Corporation for ¥8,000,000,000. Media Factory also has a monthly manga magazine, Monthly Comic Alive, and its own light novel imprint, MF Bunko J. Media Factory also holds the license for the distribution of The 39 Clues in Japan. Media Factory ceased being a kabushiki gaisha, as well as retired the Pokémon anime series on October 1, 2013, when it was merged with eight other companies to become a brand company of Kadokawa Corporation. It had a record label, Pikachu Records, that produced Pokémon CDs and Pokémon soundtracks in Japan from 1997 to 2012. Most Pokémon albums in Japan came from Pikachu Records during this period. It was retired when Media Factory was purchased by Kadokawa Corporation. On August 17, 2021, the website for Media Factory was officially closed with a notice directing readers to Kadokawa's website for future products and services.

Shin-Nihon Laser Soft was a subsidiary of Telenet Japan and Yodobashi founded in October 1988. It was known for its futuristic manga games, mostly the Cosmic Fantasy series.

Laser Soft was founded in October 1988 to focus on games for optical media, especially the PC Engine TurboGrafx CD. In June 1990 the shares by Yodobashi were taken over by Telenet, and in January 1991 Laser Soft was formally merged with Wolf Team. After that the label Laser Soft was kept for further games by Telenet for PC-Engine and other systems until about 1992.

Sega Enterprises, Ltd. was the company that resulted from the merger of Nihon Goraku Bussan and Rosen Enterprises. This company was acquired by Gulf+Western in 1969, put under the control of Sega Enterprises, Inc. in 1974, and then sold to CSK in 1984. It also acquired Esco Boueki. While owned by CSK, Sega Enterprises established an American subsidiary still in operation. Sega Enterprises would change its name to Sega Corporation on November 1, 2000.

Tec Toy (later renamed Tectoy and TecToy), also known as Tec Toy Indústria de Brinquedos SA, is a Brazilian electronics and video game company, and Sega’s official distributor in that region. The company has seen overwhelming success with sales of the Sega Master System, and its work established the 8-bit platform as a cultural staple across much of South America.

It underwent a rebranding process in 2007, becoming Tectoy.

<p>The FM Towns (Japanese: エフエムタウンズ, Hepburn: Efu Emu Taunzu) is a Japanese personal computer built by Fujitsu from 1989 to 1997. It started as a proprietary PC variant intended for multimedia applications and PC games, but later became more compatible with IBM PC compatibles. In 1993, the FM Towns Marty was released; it is a game console compatible with existing FM Towns games.</p>
<p>The "FM" part of the name means "Fujitsu Micro" like their earlier products, while the "Towns" part is derived from the code name the system was assigned while in development, "Townes". This refers to Charles Townes, one of the winners of the 1964 Nobel Prize in Physics, following a custom of Fujitsu at the time to code name PC products after Nobel Prize winners. The e in "Townes" was dropped when the system went into production to make it clearer that the term was to be pronounced like the word "towns" rather than the potential "tow-nes".[2]</p>
