Radical Dreamers: Le Trésor Interdit

Radical Dreamers is the little-known sequel to the popular and critically acclaimed Chrono Trigger. Unlike Chrono Trigger and the other games in the Chrono series, Radical Dreamers is a menu-driven text adventure/visual novel, with sparse visuals and atmospheric music. The game was released only in Japan for the Super Famicom's Satellaview satellite radio service.

In this game, three thieves - Kid, a young girl famous for her age, Magil, a mysterious wizard with an unknown past, and Serge, a rather cowardly young man - head to Lord Lynx's manor to steal the Frozen Flame, a legendary jewel. But Kid's not just there for the jewel - she has a personal vendetta against Lynx.

Many elements from this game were carried over to Chrono Cross, including characters, music, and parts of the story. In fact, Chrono Cross implies Radical Dreamers takes place in one of many alternate versions of the main game world.

The game was later localized and bundled in the remaster Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition, under the newly localized title of "Radical Dreamers: Le Trésor Interdit".

Chrono Cross

CHRONO CROSS, the sequel to the SNES favorite CHRONO TRIGGER, is one of the most ambitious role-playing games ever made. There are over 40 playable characters, each with their back-story, special moves, abilities, and weapons. The story spans two discs and follows the story of Serge, a young man who is able to cross dimensions. Suddenly he is pulled between worlds, trying to figure out his own past at the same time. The graphics are bright and beautiful, utilizing the PlayStation's capabilities to the fullest. The polygonal character models are huge and detailed, and the pre-rendered backgrounds are immaculately detailed. The music is composed and arranged by Yasunori Mitsuda, and features very realistic-sounding synthesizers. The battle system revolves around Elements, which are used to grant magical powers, as well as to summon huge monsters. For anyone that wanted to see the story of CHRONO TRIGGER continue, this is your chance.

Chrono Trigger: Jet Bike Special was a special addition to Chrono Trigger released on the Satellaview in 1995. It was simply the Jetbike mini-game as a stand-alone game.

Chrono Trigger: Crimson Echoes

Chrono Trigger: Crimson Echoes is a fangame developed by the international team Kajar Laboratories as a ROM hack of Square's role-playing video game Chrono Trigger for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It was conceived as an unofficial installment in the Chrono series, set between the events of Chrono Trigger and its sequel Chrono Cross.

It was originally set for release on May 31st, 2009. However, on May 8th, 2009, Square Enix sent out a cease and desist letter to Chrono Compedium.

Chrono Trigger: Flames of Eternity

Chrono Trigger: Flames of Eternity is a ROM hack of Chrono Trigger: Crimson Echoes. It is a sequel for the game, being a fork of Chrono Trigger: Crimson Echoes, which was cancelled near completion.

Chrono Trigger+

This hack adds a ton of cut content back into the game, allows access to previously unexplorable areas, fixes some bugs and offers some options to remove the linearity from the game. Full list of changes in the readme.

In addition 1999 is fully explorable and offers tons of stuff to do. As well as more Easter eggs and quality of life improvements.

More stuff carries over like names money, fair prizes and cats.

Chrono Trigger: Schala Edition

What if... Schala escaped from the Ocean Palace?

Chrono Trigger fans have been imagining what might've been for almost twenty-five years. Now, for the first time, an extensive ROM hack explores that question in Chrono Trigger: Schala Edition!

By the same author who created the Golbez Edition and General Leo Edition hacks of Final Fantasy IV and VI, this hack alters events so that Schala survives the Ocean Palace disaster. Magus leads Marle and friends on an expanded adventure through 12,000 BC in search of his sister, with a promise to help them retrieve their lost Crono... but only if they help him first. New locations, enemies, bosses and scenes await, ending in one of gaming's most long-awaited reunions.

While recognizably based off of Ted Woolsey's original 1995 translation, this hack features an extended and polished script, new Techs, new items and weapons, and lots of surprises along the way, bringing maximum nostalgia while also offering something new.

Other changes include: an expanded version of the original Ted Woolsey translation, new items and Techs, new enemies and dungeons, new locations and NPCs, new shops and treasures, and a lot of surprises along the way. More alterations are explained in the readme.

2.2 is a cleanup of 2.1, including typo corrections and repairs to minor bugs. The primary game content is not altered.

Chrono Trigger: Bugfix and Uncensoring Patch

This patch is geared towards fixing bugs and patching up script inconsistencies or censorship. The aim is to preserve the original translation while generally improving the game as a whole.

An enhanced port of Chrono Trigger that adds anime cutscenes and an exclusive Extras Mode. It is also known for having significantly longer load times in comparison to the original SNES version.

Extras Mode is an option in the main menu that let players view cutscenes and artwork, listen to music, and view information about techs, enemies, bosses, endings, and item locations.

It was first released for PlayStation in Japan before it came to North America as part of the Final Fantasy Chronicles compilation.

Chrono Trigger: Prophet's Guile

Chrono Trigger: Prophet’s Guile is a fan game following the story of Magus’s rise to power in the Kingdom of Zeal after arriving in 12000 B.C. thanks to the distortion at his lair. In his bid to stop Lavos at the Ocean Palace, Magus must gain the trust of Queen Zeal and abolish all opposition. It’s about two regular Chrono Trigger chapters long, and full of surprises.

Enhansa Edition

Enhansa Edition is a romhack for Chrono Trigger, one that aims to improve the original's game combat system to make battles more engaging and to make many techs more useful. Enemy AI, equipment, items, and techs have been modified. The old tab system is replaced with a more flexible new one accessed through the End of Time.

While challenging, the aim of this romhack was not to be a hardtype mod, and it's difficulty is comparable to the original.

Final Fantasy Chronicles

Final Fantasy Chronicles is a compilation that includes Final Fantasy IV, and another Square production, Chrono Trigger, released for the Sony PlayStation. Both games were ports of titles originally released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.

Although both games differ little from the original versions in terms of gameplay, graphics and sound, a number of additional bonus/extra sequences are included, including art galleries, bestiaries and full motion video cutscenes.
