Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus

Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus is a stealth-platformer developed by Sucker Punch Productions and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. Released in 2002 for the PlayStation 2, the game follows Sly Cooper, a skilled raccoon thief, as he and his gang attempt to recover the Thievius Raccoonus, a book containing the secrets of his family's thieving legacy. The gameplay combines stealth, platforming, puzzle-solving, and light combat, and is noted for its cel-shaded visuals and humorous narrative.

This game is divided into five worlds, each themed around a particular part of the world and the villain headquartered there. Most worlds are structured as a central hub with entrances to numerous individual levels. Each of the levels has a primary goals which earns the player a key. You must collect all the keys in the world to fight the world's boss.

Many of the levels have a platformer structure. The objective of these worlds is to reach the location of the key. There are substantial stealth elements here as the player must dodge searchlights and trips lasers which set off alarms and avoid alerting guards. In addition to the main objective, there are clue bottles to find. Finding all the clues in a level allows you to open a safe with a page from the Thievius Raccoonus which grants a new ability of some sort. After getting this, there is also a master thief sprint where the player must get from the start of a level to the exit within a time limit.

Sly 2: Band of Thieves

Sly 2: Band of Thieves is a stealth-action platformer developed by Sucker Punch Productions and released for PlayStation 2 in 2004. Players control Sly Cooper and his gang as they attempt to dismantle the Klaww Gang and recover the scattered parts of Clockwerk. The game expands on its predecessor with open-ended mission structures, multiple playable characters, and improved stealth mechanics.

The story takes place two years after Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus. In the first game, Sly was becoming a professional thief, but in Band of Thieves, he is a professional thief, so he retains all of the moves from the first game. He also earns new moves and gains different items to assist him in his dark craft. Players might start a level as Sly, and then after completing a particular task, players switch to Bentley, and Murray, respectively.

Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves

Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves is a stealth-action platformer developed by Sucker Punch Productions and released for PlayStation 2 in 2005. The game follows Sly Cooper and his crew as they recruit new allies to help unlock the Cooper Vault while facing off against Dr. M, a former member of Sly’s family lineage. It introduces new playable characters, expanded mini-games, and a 3D mode with optional glasses.

Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time

Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time is a stealth platformer developed by Sanzaru Games and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. Released in 2013 for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, it is the fourth main entry in the Sly Cooper series.

The game follows Sly and his gang as they travel through different historical periods to restore the Thievius Raccoonus, which is being erased from existence. Players control Sly and various characters, each with unique abilities while completing stealth-based missions, platforming challenges, and puzzles. The game retains the series’ signature cel-shaded art style and humour while introducing new mechanics, including time-travelling settings and costumes with special abilities.

The Sly Collection

The Sly Collection is a remastered compilation of the first three Sly Cooper games, developed by Sanzaru Games and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. Released in 2010 for PlayStation 3 and later for PlayStation Vita, it includes Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus, Sly 2: Band of Thieves, and Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves, all with enhanced HD graphics, Trophy support, and stereoscopic 3D compatibility on PS3. The collection preserves the original gameplay while offering visual and performance improvements.

Bentley's Hackpack

Bentley's Hackpack is a standalone minigame compilation developed by Sanzaru Games and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. Released on February 5, 2013, for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, it coincided with the launch of Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time.

In Bentley's Hackpack, players assume the role of Bentley, the tech-savvy turtle from the Sly Cooper series, accessing three arcade machines—System Cracker, Alter Ego, and Spark Runner—each offering 20 levels with five challenges per level, totaling 300 challenges. Completing these challenges awards tokens, which can be used to unlock 65 prizes in Dimitri's Prize Gallery, reminiscent of the treasure collection feature in Thieves in Time.

Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus is an updated version of the 2002 original, featuring high-definition graphics, improved performance, and integrated trophy support. Released as part of the Sly Cooper Collection on the PlayStation 3, it retains the core stealth-platformer gameplay while modernising the visual presentation for contemporary standards.
