Virtual Bart Redux

Virtual Bart Redux is a patch designed to tone down difficulty across all six featured mini games and to remove as many frustrating elements as possible.

The Simpsons Game

The Simpsons Game is based on the animated television series The Simpsons. It features an original storyline written by Tim Long, Matt Selman, and Matt Warburton. In the self-referential plot, the family discovers that they are forced to participate in another The Simpsons video game.

Krusty's Fun House

Krusty the Clown's Fun House has been overrun by rats. You must help him to herd the rats into trap machines to clear them out. In order to do so, Krusty must manipulate his environment to set up pathways so that the rats are headed in the right direction. Objects that Krusty move around include blocks, fans, and pipe pieces.

The Simpsons Arcade Game

The Simpsons is basically a side-scrolling beat-em-up featuring the characters from The Simpsons TV show. The player can choose to play as each of the four Simpson characters. Homer, who punches and kicks; Marge, who swings her vacuum cleaner; Bart, who wields his skateboard; and Lisa, who uses a jump rope as a whip. Other weapons such as hammers and bowling balls are also available to use.

The game's levels are Downtown Springfield, Krustyland, Springfield Discount Cemetery, Moe's Tavern, Springfield Gorge, Dreamland, the Channel 6 studio, and the Power Plant. Each level ends with a boss whose speed and strength will increase after taking a certain amount of damage.

Between levels, the player can compete against the other characters in two mini-games to be first to complete a task (inflating a balloon and waking up their character).

The Simpsons: Bart vs. The Space Mutants

Bart vs. The Space Mutants is a platform game where the player goes into the role of Bart Simpson (from the TV show The Simpsons) and must stop the Space Mutants from invading Springfield. On each of the five levels, Bart must collect (or get rid of) the ingredients that the Space Mutants are planning to use to build their machine, such as purple objects or balloons. He also has to collect enough "proof" of the aliens existence (brown coins left behind when they are jumped on), so his family members will help him when he meets a boss (characters such as Nelson and Sideshow Bob). This won't be easy since the Space Mutants are "using" human bodies as disguise. In order to discover who are the real Space Mutants, Bart must use his X-ray Specs.

Bart Simpson's Escape from Camp Deadly

School's out and Bart's ready for some summer fun in the sun! Until he got the news - Homer and Marge were sending him and Lisa off to summer camp. Not just any camp, but the infamous Camp Deadly! How bad could it be? Well, with Ironfist Burns as head counselor and Nelson and his band of bullies as bunkmates, it's not exactly paradise. Bart and Lisa are determined to get out - but first they've got to survive outrageous food fights, killer bees and a life-threatening game of capture the flag. Help Bart and Lisa escape, at least in time for school!

The Simpsons: Bart vs. the World

The Simpsons: Bart vs. the World is a side-scrolling platform that compiles smaller games belonging to different genres. In each stage, Bart must navigate through the area, collecting items such as firecracker balls for self-defense and Squishees to restore health By grabbing a cape, Bart can become his superheroic alter-ego, Bartman, and fly for limited periods. The most important items in each stage are Krusty-brand souvenirs. There is one in every stage, and Bart must find them all in order to get the best ending. There are also several mini-games in each area, with puzzles such as a matching-card game and a trivia game based on events in actual episodes.

Sculptured Software was an American video game developer based in Salt Lake City, Utah and founded in 1984 by George Metos, Peter Adams, and Bryan Brandenburg. George Metos incorporated the company on July 12, 1985 in the state of Utah with the help of some investors, as Sculptured Software, Inc. The company was an early pioneer in the video gaming industry, porting many games from arcade to home console systems, and developing its own games as well. The development company stayed very busy and successful, with over 50 games to its credit, so it is of no surprise that the company became a target for acquisition by larger companies. This happened in October 1995 when Acclaim Inc. bought the company.

Acclaim had also purchased Probe Entertainment as well as Iguana Entertainment several months earlier, and the three companies were collectively known as "Acclaim Studios" in 1998, although no official name changing happened until later. It appears that the Sculptured Studios, Inc. name remained since it was printed on game packaging all the way through 1999. It was referred to as "Iguana West", but it is unsure whether this name was officially used as a development entity.

Restructuring and rearranging things within Acclaim occurred in an attempt to streamline operations, and the Sculptured Software name was discontinued in favor of Acclaim Studios Salt Lake City in about July 1999. The first game on record developed by Acclaim Studios SLC was ECW Hardcore Revolution (January 31, 2000), and the last completed game by the studio was Legends of Wrestling II (2002). Acclaim Studios SLC was working on Legends of Wrestling III and one other unannounced game when the headquarters decided to close the studio in December 2002. Everything was absorbed into Acclaim's Austin studio at that time.

Bart's reality goes virtual when he is strapped into Martin Prince's Virtual Reality experiment at the elementary school science fair. Each virtual reality program represents a stage in the game that Bart must play through in order to escape the machine before the programs crash.

The game consists of three side-scrolling platform stages and three stages that take place from a rear view. Bart assumes the roles of a pig, dinosaur, and baby for the platform stages. He tosses tomatoes and eggs, slides down a water slide, and drives a motorcycle in a post-apocalyptic Springfield for the three remaining stages. They are all accessed by chance via a wheel-of-misfortune.
