The Virtua Striker series returns with 32 national soccer teams from around the world. Whether you play as France, Brazil or Argentina, you can lead your team to the International Cup final for a chance to win the trophy. On the way to the International Cup, you will meet more than 1,400 different players with their own statistics and you will play in 13 stadiums.

Virtua Striker is the first three-dimensional computer graphic soccer gameby Sega, bringing extreme competition to the arcades.

State of the art texture mapping provides sophisticated reproduction of the World Cup atmosphere, with incredibly immersive game action and realistic backgrounds. It uses the same architecture as Virtua Fighter 2.

Virtua Striker 2002

The Virtua Striker series returns with 64 national football teams from around the world. Whether you play as France, Brazil, or Argentina, you can take your team to the final of the International Cup for a chance to win the trophy. On the road to the International Cup, you'll encounter more than 1,400 different players with their own stats and play in 13 stadiums. Virtua Striker 2002 also includes player edit and replay functions.

Virtua Striker 4 is a football game released for Triforce hardware and the direct sequel to Virtua Striker 3.

Virtua Striker 2 Version '98

Virtua Striker 2 Version '98 is an expanded version of Virtua Striker 2 for Sega Model 3 arcade hardware. Version '98 has the same number of teams as the orignial (26), but changes some of the countries.

Virtua Striker 2 Version '99

Virtua Striker 2 Version '99 is an expanded version of Virtua Striker 2 for Sega Model 3 arcade hardware. Version '99 adds a further three teams to the Version '98 roster, bringing the total to 29.

Sega

Sega AM Research & Development No. 2, previously known as SEGA-AM2 Co., Ltd., is a video game development team within the Japanese multinational video game developer Sega. Yu Suzuki, who had previously developed arcade games for Sega including Hang-On and Out Run, was the first manager of the department.

AM2's first game produced was 1992's Virtua Racing, followed by the highly popular Virtua Fighter and Daytona USA. Through the remainder of the 1990s, they developed more arcade titles and focused on fighting and racing games. AM2 was placed under the management of CSK Research Institute in 2000, and a year later became SEGA-AM2 Co., Ltd. Their development of Shenmue was over budget and cost millions of dollars, and despite positive reviews and good sales was unable to become profitable.

Suzuki was promoted and left AM2 in 2003; Hiroshi Kataoka became the head of AM2. A year later Sega was acquired by Sammy Corporation and AM2 was merged back into Sega. Since, the team has continued work on arcade games such as Border Break and the Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA series, as well as smartphone games in Japan. Several games produced by Sega AM2 have influenced and innovated the video game industry from a technical and developmental perspective.
