SiN 1 Multiplayer

SiN Episodes

Planned as an episodic sequel to SiN, set 4 years after the end of the game, only 1 of the planned 9 episodes were released.
The episodes were going to be playable in any order with independent story segments, planned playtime of 4-6 hours, with an overarching story.

Initially aiming for a development cycle of 4-6 months between releases, there was plans for changing future episodes depending on what players did in the previous ones. To do this, specific gameplay data was recorded and could be uploaded anonymously by players at any time.
This information included gameplay options like the difficulty level, assistance level and use of cheats as well as stats like weapon specific kills, deaths per map, secrets found, completion time and highscores for those playing on Hardcorps mode.

You are Colonel John Blade, head of the most prominent private protection agency in Freeport. Elexis Sinclaire is waging her holy war against the security industry...and you along with it. You've made a religion out of fighting crime. Now you're going to make Elexis pay for her sins.

SiN: Wages of Sin

After Elexis Sinclaire disappeared at the end of Sin, Wages of Sin continues the storyline by introducing the new villain Gianni Manero, a mob boss who seeks to gain power from the leftovers of Elexis' former company SinTEK. Manero produces new genetically engineered creatures (mutants) under secret supervision, but when some of these mutants break out and run into the city, the elite security force group HARDCORPS becomes aware of them and it's up to HARDCORPS leader John Blade, who starred as the hero and the player's character in Sin, to set things right.

SiN Episodes: Emergence

You are John Blade, commander of HardCorps, an elite security force dedicated to protecting the people of Freeport City. Four years have passed since your first battle with Elexis Sinclaire, a beautiful, brilliant, and ruthless scientist who is out to remake humanity according to her own twisted vision. The law has failed to bring Elexis and her multi-billion dollar empire, SiNTEK, to justice, so Blade is determined to take matters into his own hands. Joining Blade on his mission are JC - a hacker with a secret to keep - and Jessica Cannon, a fiery rookie who can find her way into any secure facility.

Enter the living, breathing world of Freeport City, a futuristic collision of New York, San Francisco and Tokyo. As Freeport continues to suffer from mutant attacks, you must now bring down Sinclaire before she can set her deadly plan in motion and alter the shape of humanity forever.

Location-based damage rewards accuracy while melee combat moves enable you to get up-close and personal.

Unprecedented Interactivity: Blast your way through highly interactive environments powered by an enhanced version of the Source engine. Characters dynamically react to what you're looking at and the environment. Target and shoot off specific vehicle parts and literally blow cars to pieces. Experience the next level of vehicle combat with a flexible positioning system enabling you to move around the interior with an unprecedented degree of freedom, allowing you to pick the ideal position to attack that enemy position up ahead.

Personal Challenge System: Driven by one of the most elaborate statistics systems ever created, SiN Episodes will constantly adapt to your playing style and offers a challenge that is custom-tailored to your skill level.

Episodic Delivery: Buy as little or as much of the game as you want, with each installment offering 3 - 6 hours of action-packed gameplay. But tread lightly, as the choices you make may influence future episodes in unforeseen ways.

SiN Multiplayer

SiN Multiplayer is the separate multiplayer launcher for SiN on Steam, updated to use Steam's server browser. 
 
It was included alongside SiN with SiN Episodes: Emergence when it was released on Steam in 2006. 
It was removed from Steam, but was still playable if already installed, ahead of the updated release of SiN Gold on Steam in 2020.

Sin: Reloaded

Nightdive Studios and 3D Realms have joined forces to bring you SiN: Reloaded, a completely remastered experience of the classic 1998 shooter from Ritual Entertainment. SiN was a groundbreaking story driven FPS brimming with memorable characters, horrific enemies and a devastating arsenal that pushed the Quake II Engine to its limits. Now in 2020 SiN has been Reloaded!

Ritual Entertainment was an American video game developer established in 1996 by Robert Atkins, Mark Dochtermann, Jim Dosé, Richard 'Levelord' Gray, Michael Hadwin, Harry Miller, and Tom Mustaine. Based in Dallas, Texas, Ritual Entertainment was formerly known as Hipnotic Interactive, during which period they began development of their signature video game SiN.

Members of the Ritual Entertainment development team have contributed assets to other games such as American McGee's Alice, Medal of Honor: Airborne, Tomb Raider: Legend, and 25 to Life, and are also the creators of "Übertools" for id Tech 3, which has been licensed for a number of other games.

On January 24, 2007, developer MumboJumbo announced the acquisition of Ritual Entertainment.[3] With this acquisition, Ritual's focus on traditional action-oriented games was changed to casual games, essentially "stalling" Ritual's latest game series, SiN Episodes, after releasing only one episode out of a planned nine.

The purchase followed months of departures of several key employees, including chief executive officer Steve Nix, who became director of business development at id Software, vice president and co-founder Tom Mustaine, who left to found Escalation Studios. Several months after the acquisition, community relations manager Steve Hessel left the company to join Splash Damage.

Prior to the announcement, on December 6, 2006, Ritual announced the appointment of Ken Harward as the company's new studio director.[6]

Following the company's closure, many of the deveopers have left to other companies such as id Software, Gearbox Software, Nerve Software, Escalation Studios, and the now-defunct Paradigm Entertainment.
