Silent Hill

Silent Hill es la primera entrega de la serie de videojuegos de terror psicológico y supervivencia Silent Hill. A diferencia de los primeros juegos de terror y supervivencia, que se centraban en protagonistas con entrenamiento en combate, el personaje principal, Harry Mason, es un hombre corriente. La jugabilidad consiste en combates, exploración y resolución de acertijos. La vibración del mando se utiliza para indicar los latidos del corazón de Harry y vibrará cuando su salud esté baja. El jugador debe acceder regularmente a la pantalla de inventario para comprobar la salud de Harry, usar objetos y equiparse con diferentes armas.

Silent Hill 2

Silent Hill 2, la segunda entrega de la franquicia Silent Hill, es un juego de terror psicológico y supervivencia en tercera persona centrado en la narrativa, con énfasis en el combate, la exploración y la resolución de acertijos. La historia sigue a James Sunderland, un hombre que recibe una carta, aparentemente enviada por su esposa Mary, fallecida hace tres años, en la que se le convoca al pueblo de Silent Hill, envuelto en la niebla, al mismo tiempo que muchas otras personas atormentadas por su pasado.

Silent Hill 3

Silent Hill 3 es la tercera entrega de la serie Silent Hill. Al igual que las entregas anteriores, Silent Hill 3 es un juego de terror y supervivencia que combina combates de acción y resolución de acertijos, aunque está algo más orientado al combate que las entregas anteriores. El protagonista es capaz de esquivar y bloquear algunos ataques, pero, en general, comparte con los demás protagonistas de la serie su relativa torpeza en el combate.

Silent Hill 4: The Room

Silent Hill 4: The Room is the fourth installment in the Silent Hill survival horror series. The game is similar to the past entries in terms of atmosphere, never letting the player know what's behind the next corner or down the street. Aside from the traditional third-person-view, there is now a first-person mode which is used to control the main character when he is in his apartment. Objects that can be interacted with are highlighted by eyeball icons. The previous games in the series have mostly been about exploring the town and solving puzzles, but this installment has much more combat involved. There are more enemies in a given area, spread in cramped spaces. The main character mostly uses a standard Silent Hill arsenal of weapons, such as the steel pipe, pistol and a golf club.

Silent Hill: Origins

Silent Hill: Origins is the fifth installment in the Silent Hill survival horror series, and a prequel to the original game. As in the previous entries, the player move back and forth between nightmare and real versions of the town, gathering items used to solve puzzles and open up new areas. Monsters of various types provide obstacles and, in series tradition, are mostly disturbingly twisted versions of humanity. The main character can fight with his bare fists or use melee weapons. Unlike previous games in the series, melee weapons break after a time. There are also one-shot items that can be thrown and several guns. There is no HUD, but the edge of the screen turns red when the protagonist is near death.

Silent Hill: Homecoming

Silent Hill: Homecoming is the sixth installment in the Silent Hill survival horror series. The gameplay is the same as it's previous entries, where the player searches for objects and uses weapons to defend against grotesque monsters while solving puzzles to advance further into the game. In terms of combat, the player is able to perform light and heavy attacks or mix them to perform combinations. For the first time in the series, the player may select responses when engaging in dialogue with other characters encountered in the game, which in turn may affect how the player sees the plot unfold.

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories is the seventh installment in the Silent Hill survival horror series, and a stand-alone reimagining of the original Silent Hill video game. Once again, you will cast Harry Mason searching across the haunted town for his missing daughter Cheryl. Through his exploration, Harry will come across objects and recordings that tell some of the history of Silent Hill. New to the series are a depiction of Silent Hill's demonic alter-dimension as a world of ice, and the removal of weapons from the game: when the monsters come out, Harry must literally run for his life. Between scenes, the game will cut to a psychiatrist's office, who asks personal questions about Harry and his past experiences. The game will then alter itself based on the player's responses, changing characters and lines of dialog to something intended to be more personally uncomfortable.

WayForward Technologies is an American independent video game developer and publisher based in Valencia, California. Founded by entrepreneur Voldi Way, the company started by developing games for consoles such as the Super NES and Sega Genesis as well as TV games and PC educational software. They also have created a variety of original game properties such as their flagship Shantae series, which appeared first on the Game Boy Color and was published by Capcom.
