Shanghai: Triple-Threat

Another version of the ancient game of Mah-Jong. The player is presented with an arrangement of tiles, lined up together and stacked, with either 2 or 4 of each of an array of patterns. These must be removed by matching pairs, but only tiles which are visible and have a space to the left or right can be removed.

This release in the Activision's Shanghai series includes three games along with the Classic Shanghai. In The Great Wall, the tiles are stacked vertically, and fall when lower tiles are removed, a lá Tetris. In Beijing, gaps are created to slide groups of tiles along. The Golden Tile sees two players attempt to clear a set layout at once. The Triple-theme continues with three game modes: Solitaire, 2-player "Pandamonium", and Arcade. Three themed tile sets complete the "Triple Threat".

Shanghai II: Dragon's Eye

Shanghai II is Activison's follow-up to their first tile matching game. Players try to remove Mah Jong tiles in pairs from a set pattern. Shanghai II has 8 different tile sets, 12 patterns based on the animals of the Chinese zodiac, and a layout editor for creating patterns.

In addition to the standard game, Shanghai II also features "Dragon's eye" a 2-player Shanghai varriant. Players take turns adding and removing tiles from a small field with one player attempting to remove all the tiles and the other trying to position tiles to make this impossible.

Shanghai is a computerized version of mahjong solitaire. After winning a game, the tiles reveal the three-dimensional blinking eye of a dragon behind the game screen. The Macintosh and Sega Master System version shows an animated dragon spitting fire.

Shanghai II is a Puzzle game, developed and published by SunSoft, which was released in Japan in 1990.

Shanghai Pocket

Shanghai Pocket is a Puzzle game, developed and published by SunSoft. It was first released for the Game Boy, then ported to the WonderSwan. The Game Boy version has Super Game Boy support.

Shanghai III

"Shanghai III" is a puzzle game released by SUNSOFT in 1993.
This is the 3rd title of the standard puzzle game series that has gained a lot of popularity by adding new functions such as playing with an opponent.

Shanghai Mini

Shanghai Mini is a release in the series of Activision's tile matching games. Included are classic, tournament and dynasty modes. Classic is normal game with six different board layouts. In tournament game player challenges the Tower of Shanghai and tries to beat the Shanghai Master by solving different board layouts within time limit. Dynasty is two player competition - against computer or human (requires link cable) opponent.

Hudson Soft became a publicly traded company in 2000. In 2005, Konami acquired a 55% controlling stake in Hudson, later purchasing the company outright on April 1, 2011. On March 1, 2012, Hudson merged with Konami Digital Entertainment, which retains its game catalog and periodically re-releases Hudson's classic titles.
