This is a 3D-based sequel to Rygar, a Tecmo title which was successful in the arcades and on many home systems.

In the land of Argos, Princess Harmonia is kidnapped by the Titans, who are led by ancient gods Cleopatra and a winged-demon character named Aristotle, in an attempt to release the evil spirit of Cronus. A young gladiator in training named Rygar hears her cries for help, and rushes to her rescue.

Armed with a legendary device called the Diskarmor, Rygar will explore the land of Argos, destroying enemies and powerful demons, while finding items and seeking information to aid him in his search for Princess Harmonia. Once Rygar has powered up his Diskarmor, it is up to him to stop Cleopatra and Aristotle, save the Princess and all of Argos from evil.

An evil being known as Ligar is about to conquer the land of Argool. Such is his power that no living creature dares to cross paths with him. But the legendary warrior Rygar rises from his grave to restore peace and justice. Armed with his famed weapon Diskarmor, Rygar begins to traverse the vast lands that lead to the lair of the demon, as his minions are trying in vain to stop him...

An open-world action-adventure game for the Nintendo Entertainment System that features a barbarian warrior with a distinctive "diskarmor" weapon. It is distinct from the original 1986 Arcade game Rygar, which saw numerous home console ports.

A straight port of Rygar (NES) for the SNES. The game works the same, but with additional support for MSU1 enhancement for audio.

In 2009, Tecmo merged with Koei to form the holding company Tecmo Koei Holdings and was operated as a subsidiary until its disbandment in early 2010. In April 2010, Tecmo was dissolved and its video game franchises are now published by Koei Tecmo Games.
