Resident Evil

Resident Evil is a survival horror classic in which a group of special forces agents, known as S.T.A.R.S, struggle against hordes of zombies and various other mutants in a mysterious mansion as they try to uncover the truth behind the terrifying infection. The gameplay environment consists of polygonal 3D characters placed over pre-rendered 2D backgrounds. As such, the game relies on pre-determined camera angles for a view of the action instead of a real-time camera like most games. The game is credited for coining the phrase "survival horror" and popularizing the genre.

Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles

Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles is an on-rails shooting game and the second title exclusive to the Wii platform in the Resident Evil series. The player do not control the character's movement but only the shooting aspect, shown from a first-person perspective. The player's partner is also shown on the screen and there is an cooperative option for two players.

Resident Evil 5

Resident Evil 5 es el séptimo videojuego de la serie Resident Evil. Tiene una mecánica de juego similar a la de Resident Evil 4, ya que utiliza la misma perspectiva a la espalda del personaje, pero esta vez el entorno juega un papel muy importante. Resident Evil 2

Resident Evil 2 is a sequel to the first Resident Evil title. Like the previous game in the series, Resident Evil 2 is a 3D action-adventure using three-dimensional polygon characters over two-dimensional pre-rendered backgrounds, with the action viewed through a variety of cinematic fixed camera angles in each room. Players can choose to play as one of two possible characters; each goes through the same initial scenario but with differences in the type of weaponry they find and the people they meet along the way.

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis es un videojuego de terror y supervivencia, y la tercera entrega de la serie Resident Evil. Al igual que sus dos predecesores, es un juego de acción y aventura en tercera persona con personajes poligonales sobre fondos prerenderizados y ángulos de cámara cinematográficos. Resident Evil Survivor

Resident Evil Survivor is the first Resident Evil title to be rendered in real time as opposed to making use of pre-rendered backdrops. Levels are explored in first person, and when enemies are encountered the press of a button will bring up a targeting reticle for shooting. As with most light-gun games there is infinite pistol ammunition available, but limited ammunition for more powerful weapons. At the end of each level two doors are presented which both lead to different levels, although all paths eventually lead to the same ending.

Resident Evil Code: Veronica

Resident Evil Code: Veronica is the fourth video game in Capcom's Resident Evil survival horror series. The game continues the survival horror gameplay of its predecessors: the protagonist explores the surroundings, fighting monsters and solving puzzles. However, it is the first game in the series to do away with pre-rendered backgrounds using a fully polygonal 3D engine instead, which allows for features such as real-time lighting and camera movement. Still, such movements are only used sparingly, and the use of perspective is mostly unchanged from earlier installments: the camera automatically switches to different static angles showing protagonists, monsters and rooms from different spooky viewpoints.

Resident Evil remastered to be fully playable on modern PCs by Capcom and GOG. Your squad has been choppered to a remote mansion to investigate a bio-experiment gone wrong. You're plunged straight into a deathtrap. Arm yourself, solve puzzles, and unearth mysteries. But beware: every move you make draws you deeper into the deadly embrace of Resident Evil.

Full Release

The Windows version, released in December 1996, featured the uncensored footage from the Japanese version, and the opening intro is in full color rather than black and white. It is the only version of Resident Evil that has all of the uncensored full motion video (FMV) sequences, which includes the uncensored introduction, Kenneth's death scene in its entirety, and ending.
