Nostalgia

Nostalgia is a piano based rhythm game in Konami's BEMANI franchise. It is the first game in the Nostalgia series and a spiritual successor to Konami's Keyboardmania series.

The game consists of falling bars corresponding to certain areas of the keyboard. When the bars cross the judgement line it is time to play that key. There are three type of notes - Normal note which you play as normal, slide note where you slide your hand across the keyboard and trill note where you rapidly and alternately press two neighbouring keys.

The keyboard itself consists of 28 keys, but unlike a real keyboard the black keys are omitted. This was done because it was viewed as added difficulty to the game during location testing and the aim was to make the game more accessibly than other games in the BEMANI franchise.

The game features a story mode communicated only with animated cut scenes without any spoken word, making it accessible regardless if you do not know Japanese. The game song list consists of 83 songs.

Nostalgia: Op.2

Nostalgia: Op.2 (Op.2 meaning the second opus) is a piano based rhythm game in Konami's BEMANI franchise. It is the second game in the Nostalgia series and a spiritual successor to Konami's Keyboardmania series.

The game consists of falling bars corresponding to certain areas of the keyboard. When the bars cross the judgement line it is time to play that key. There are three type of notes - Normal note which you play as normal, slide note where you slide your hand across the keyboard and trill note where you rapidly and alternately press two neighbouring keys.

Op.2 adds a recital mode, with more strict timing, pressure requirements on key presses and bigger penalties on misses and how many keys may be played at the same time. Recital mode also challenges you with picking songs of a certain theme to fill your game session. An enourmous settings screen was also added so that you can customize your play (scroll speed, note style, falling style etc.).

The story mode added proper progression with a map screen, diverging simultaneous stories, and themed worlds with according unlockable songs. All songs from Nostalgia and Nostalgia: Forte are returning for this game. Along with the 126 new songs in Op.2, that brings the total song list up to 307 songs.

Nostalgia: Forte

The game consists of falling bars corresponding to certain areas of the keyboard. When the bars cross the judgement line it is time to play that key. There are three type of notes - Normal note which you play as normal, slide note where you slide your hand across the keyboard and trill note where you rapidly and alternately press two neighbouring keys.

The game adds a grade system where your overall skill in the game is measured. A NEAR judgement has also been added, which is obtained when you press the wrong key near the right key, but in the right time. It does not earn any score, but stop you from losing your combo. Arcade matchmaking is extended to 4 players at the same time.

The game extends the base games 83 songs with 98 new songs for a total of 181 songs.

Nostalgia: Op.3

Nostalgia: Op.3 (Op.3 meaning the third opus) is a piano based rhythm game in Konami's BEMANI franchise. It is the third game in the Nostalgia series and a spiritual successor to Konami's Keyboardmania series.

The game consists of falling bars corresponding to certain areas of the keyboard. When the bars cross the judgement line it is time to play that key. There are three type of notes - Normal note which you play as normal, slide note where you slide your hand across the keyboard and trill note where you rapidly and alternately press two neighbouring keys.

Op.3 adds more sorting functionality to the song selection screens, which is needed as the song list has grown in size. It also allows you to filter on your scores and grades, making it easier to improve your overall skill level in the game. Recital mode is now a toggle on the standard mode instead of another mode.

This is the first time in the series where some songs are not carried over from previous version, due to licenses not being renewed. 75 songs were brought forward from Nostalgia, 97 from Nostalgia: Forte and 126 from Nostalgia: Op.2. Along with the 49 new songs in Op.3, that brings the total song list up to 347 songs (as of 27th June 2020). Since this is an currently active game, the song list will likely expand up until the release of the next game in the series.

Nostalgia Konaste

The cloud-based home release of the arcade series Nostalgia, released as part of Konami's Konaste line.

Largely based on Nostalgia Op.3, the most recent arcade release at the time of launch.

DDRMax: Dance Dance Revolution 6thMix

DDRMax: Dance Dance Revolution 6thMix is the 6th game in the Dance Dance Revolution series of music video games. It was released in the arcades by Konami on October 19, 2001. Although only officially released in Japan, units exist worldwide. 6thMix contains a total of 42 songs, 36 of which are new to Dance Dance Revolution. It was the first in the series to feature Freeze Arrows. In the proto version of this game, it has some songs from DDR 1st-5th Mix.

The interface used is a recoloring and smoothing of the song wheel interface first introduced in Dance Dance Revolution 5thMix, with the addition of changeable sort settings and a longer time limit.

Dance Dance Revolution 5thMix

Dance Dance Revolution 5thMIX, or DDR 5th Mix, is the 5th game in the Dance Dance Revolution series of music video games. It was released to the arcades by Konami on March 27, 2001. Although only officially released in Japan, units exist worldwide. DDR 5th Mix contains a total of 122 songs, nine of which are hidden and unlockable. Of those songs, 40 of them (including all nine unlockable songs) are brand new to Dance Dance Revolution.

Dance Dance Revolution

Dance Dance Revolution (ダンスダンスレボリューション Dansu Dansu Reboryūshon?), abbreviated DDR and also known as Dancing Stage in earlier games in Europe and Australasia, and some other games in Japan, is a music video game series produced by Konami. Introduced in Japan in 1998 as part of the Bemani series, and released in North America and Europe in 1999, Dance Dance Revolution is the pioneering series of the rhythm and dance genre in video games. Players stand on a "dance platform" or stage and hit colored arrows laid out in a cross with their feet to musical and visual cues. Players are judged by how well they time their dance to the patterns presented to them and are allowed to choose more music to play to if they receive a passing score.

Dance Dance Revolution has been given much critical acclaim for its originality and stamina in the video game market. There have been dozens of arcade-based releases across several countries and hundreds of home video game console releases, promoting a music library of original songs produced by Konami's in-house artists and an eclectic set of licensed music from many different genres. The DDR series has inspired similar games such as Pump It Up by Andamiro and In the Groove by Roxor

Beatmania

Beatmania is a rhythm game developed by Konami. It is the first game in the BEMANI series ( which it was named after: BEatMANIa ). It is one of the few music games developed by the internal studio GMD (Game Music Division).

Beatmania is played with a controller with one turn table and 5 keys, three white and two black. On the screen you will see bars moving from the top to bottom in columns representing each of the keys and the turntable. When the bars reach the judgement line it is time to scratch.

The game contain 7 songs, which is the lowest number ever in the BEMANI franchise.

Dance Dance Revolution: Disney Channel Edition

Disney Channel Edition, only released in the United States, is another dancing game of the Dance Dance Revolution series from Konami. This time the game aims especially for all those, who are into the Disney Channel series and can’t get enough of idols like Hannah Montana, Cheetah Girls and so on.

The game features music and characters from series like High School Musical, Hannah Montana, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Cheetah Girls and more. Included are 40 songs and a new game mode called “Magic Mode”, where the player can compete against characters from the Disney Channel to unlock additional character outfits. In this mode you can fill up a combo meter to apply a handicap to the other player, which makes it then harder to hit the steps right.
