Mr. Driller: Drill Land

A Japanese exclusive released in 2002 for GameCube.
The game could be connected to the Game Boy Advance game Mr. Driller Ace, another Japanese exclusive, to transfer pets to the GameCube and unlock power-ups for purchase.

A remastered version of the game was released worldwide in 2020 on Nintendo Switch and PC.

Mr. Driller: Drill Land is a sequel to Mr. Driller. The basic goal is like the original - players must dig through from top to bottom, aiming to reach the goal depth in meters. As they dig, they gradually lose air, so they must also collect air capsules to replenish their air and prevent losing a life.

Mr. Driller: Drill Spirits

Mr. Driller, experienced with the drill, much use his abilities to dig beneath the Earth's crust in a race to the finish in order to save the day. Dangerous traps await as you dig through the puzzle layout to the goal, and be careful of Mr. Driller's air supply which can run out quickly. Find the right powerups to increase abilities and air supply while fighting the time clock.

Mr. Driller Online

Players take on the role of a driller moving through levels of colorful blocks, avoiding the threat of being crushed by falling blocks, all while keeping their air supply from running out.

Mr. Driller Online features single player modes including Standard Driller and Quest Driller, as well as online multiplayer support for up to four players on Xbox LIVE. In online multiplayer mode, players can participate in a split screen Solo Battle, where the best score wins, or in Tag Battle, where friends team up in pairs to beat the game.

Mr. Driller is an arcade puzzle game developed by Namco and first released in 1999.
Players control a driller who descends through layers of colored blocks, clearing paths while managing a limited air supply. Blocks disappear when four or more of the same color are connected, creating strategic challenges as the screen scrolls upward. The game emphasizes quick decision-making and careful planning under time pressure. It became known for its simple mechanics, increasing difficulty, and bright visual style.

A.D 2000X in Tokyo, a mysterious occurrence of overflowing Blocks was halted by the actions of a Professional Excavator "Driller" by the name of Susumu Hori. Above ground, peace returned again.

Half a year passed, suddenly the Blocks began to overflow in three nations. One after another America, India and Egypt became flooded in blocks.

Susumu Hori and his Rival Driller, Anna Hottenmeyer; urgently began to dig to the depths of the earth. Meanwhile, Susumu's father, Taizou Hori; Susumu's elder brother, Ataru Hori; Anna's Robot Assistant, Horinger Z and Susumu's roommate, Puchi, were all digging to the depths of the earth, aiming for the resolution of this disaster.

And, among the 6 Drillers, who will be the one to resolve this disaster?

Our hero can drill up, down, left and right. Drilling through single blocks would take forever, so it's fortunate that blocks of the same color form into groups that vanish when only one of the blocks is drilled. This allows for chain reactions, since vanishing blocks will often cause other blocks to fall and form new groups. Alas, these falling blocks are also deadly if they hit Mr. Driller.

If all Mr. Driller had to do was drill, life would be easy. But he also has to keep refilling his oxygen supply by collecting air capsules scattered throughout the blocks. The deeper he goes, the faster his air runs out. Hampering his progress even further are brown "X-blocks" that take five drill strikes to disappear and remove 20% of Mr. Driller's air when broken.

This game is a Japan-only port of the original Arcade game of the same name.

Test your drill skills in Mr. Driller 2, a colorful puzzle game for the Game Boy Advance. In an effort to save the world from being buried under colored blocks, you must drill your way through a variety of intricate puzzles while avoiding enemies and obstacles. Based on the arcade version, the sequel to Mr. Driller features Mission Driller, Endless Driller, and Time Attack Driller modes, plus a two-player mode that lets you play against a friend via link cable.
