MechCommander Gold

MechCommander Gold is the 1999 update to FASA Interactive's MechCommander, which contains both the original title's campaign and an entirely new 12-mission scenario called Desperate Measures, which incorporates several new 'Mech, weapons, and vehicles.

MechCommander is the second real-time tactics (RTT) video game based on FASA's BattleTech/MechWarrior franchise (though often being called a real-time strategy game), developed by FASA Interactive and distributed by MicroProse. MechCommander was released in 1998. It had an expansion which was later combined with the original title and released as MechCommander Gold. A sequel also exists (distributed by Microsoft)—MechCommander 2. MicroProse also used many of the ideas in their 2000 Starship Troopers game.

Set immediately after the liberation of Port Arthur, the player once again assumes command of Zulu company in a campaign to liberate the desolate planet Cermak in the Periphery

MechWarrior 2: 31st Century Combat

You are the genetically engineered Clan Mechwarrior. The Clans are invading the Inner Sphere. Join either the Wolf Clan or the Jade Falcon Clan as they pursue their own agenda against the Inner Sphere and other Clans. Take your advanced Omnimechs into battle against all comers. Win high warrior ratings (by using less mechs or smaller mechs than needed, completing secondary objectives, etc.) and you'll get chance at a promotion trial where you face superior odds in an arena. If you win, you advance in rank. If you are very successfully, you can make it all the way up to Khan, leader of the Clan!

Mechwarrior II was developed in-house by Activision as the successor to their original Mechwarrior. While this time there are no dynamic campaign and mercenary actions, the Clan culture is integrated into the two campaigns. Different clans have different mechs and different rules, even different weapons. You can customize your mechs in order to use less than the "par" force in order to get a higher rating. The full 3D environment wasn't pretty as this was before the 3D accelerators made their debut, but it's still better than anything that came before. Let addition of NetMech allowed users to fight each other online. When 3D cards came along, special versions were created to take advantage of 3D texturing. While not QUITE as replayable as Mechwarrior, it's nonetheless a classic.

If you want them now, get the Titanium Edition, which is 3D accelerated.

MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries

MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries was released in September 1996 and is a stand-alone sequel to MechWarrior 2 and the last Activision BattleTech game. In this game, the player takes control of an Inner Sphere mercenary squad, with control over the finances and mission selections. Mercenaries gives the player access to 30 new BattleMechs and 50 missions covering numerous worlds, including missions pertaining to the Clan invasion. Mercenaries also features MercNet (a redesign of NetMech) for multiplayer.

MechWarrior 4: Vengeance

MechWarrior 4: Vengeance is a computer game developed by FASA Interactive and published by Microsoft. It was released on November 22, 2000. This game is the fourth game in MechWarrior series. It takes place in BattleTech universe where the pinnacle of all war machines are huge, heavily armed robots called BattleMechs. The player pilots one of these "'Mechs" and uses variety of available weapons (autocannons, lasers, missiles, and more) to battle enemy 'Mechs, tanks and other vehicles. An expansion pack, MechWarrior 4: Black Knight, was released in 2001, and a subsequent stand-alone expansion, MechWarrior 4: Mercenaries, was released on November 7, 2002.

MechWarrior Online is a tactical online shooter set in the BattleTech Universe. The battlefields of the 31st century are dominated by powerful mechanized units known as BattleMechs. You will assume the role of an elite MechWarrior, fighting for supremacy over the galaxy.

MechAssault

MechAssault was the first BattleMech video game published for the Xbox. Developed by Day 1 Studios and published by Microsoft, MechAssault was initiated when Denny Thorley of Day 1 Studios approached Jon Kimmich of Microsoft about developing an original BattleTech game built from the ground up to support console play.[1] "MechAssault" was released in November of 2002. A sequel, MechAssault 2: Lone Wolf, was released on December 28, 2004. Both games are set in the BattleTech fictional universe

MechAssault 2: Lone Wolf continues the destruction, intense combat, and online play introduced by the first MechAssault game. This is the page for the original company which was founded by Bill Stealey, Sid Meier, and Andy Hollis in 1982. It developed and published numerous games, including starting the Civilization and X-COM series. The is the original company which would be merged with Spectrum HoloByte (as MicroProse, Inc), bought by Hasbro Interactive, and later bought again by Infogrames Entertainment, SA. Under the last buyout the brand was gradually phased out and eventually went defunct.

In 2019, the MicroProse brand was revived by David Lagettie. The name of the new company is simply MicroProse.
