Lemmings

Lemmings is a puzzle-platform game developed by DMA Design and published by Psygnosis in 1991. Players guide a group of lemmings through hazardous levels to a designated exit. Lemmings 2: The Tribes

By now, you'll probably be aware of the horrible plight the Lemmings face. Not only do they have to leave their lovely little hovels for good,but they also have to escape their island before they perish in the Darkness that's coming. Your objective therefore is to save as many Lemmings as possible from each tribe and help them escape the Island. The DOS version has a different sounding soundtrack due to the different sound card, but is otherwise identical.

Lemmings 3D

Lemmings 3D is a puzzle video game released in 1995, developed by Clockwork Games and published by Psygnosis. The gameplay, like the original Lemmings game, requires the player to lead all the lemmings to their exit by giving them the appropriate "skills". It was the first Lemmings game to be rendered in 3D. It was released for DOS, PlayStation, and Sega Saturn, with all three releases being almost identical minus some performance differences.

Lemmings Paintball

Unlike most of the other Lemmings games, it does not use a side-scrolling perspective but instead an isometric view of the levels. The gameplay is also very different from other Lemmings games, focusing on splattering enemies with paint from a gun. The levels contain various puzzles including moving platforms, lemming catapults, and trampolines.

Objects available in the game include:

Duplicator: Can be used to create additional lemmings up to the maximum amount of four. Can also replace lemmings killed in action.
Switch: Can be used to open and close gates, lower platforms and so on.
Gate: Gates block certain areas in a level. They can be opened using a switch or key. Keys can be found in exploding crates.
Exploding crate: Contain a key or a catapult.
Balloon: Can be used to transport a lemming through the air from one specific location to another.

Oh No! More Lemmings

Oh No! More Lemmings is the follow-up to Lemmings. The game features 100 new levels, and all-new graphics and music. It was released in both a stand-alone and an add-on version.

Lemmings is a 2006 video game developed by Team17 and released by Sony Computer Entertainment, remake of the original Lemmings published in 1991.

The game has been released in slightly different versions for PlayStation Portable, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation 3.

Psygnosis Limited (known as SCE Studio Liverpool or simply Studio Liverpool from 1999) was a British video game developer and publisher headquartered at Wavertree Technology Park in Liverpool. Founded in 1984 by Ian Hetherington, Jonathan Ellis, and David Lawson, the company initially became known for well-received games on the Atari ST and Commodore Amiga. In 1993, it became a wholly owned subsidiary of Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) and began developing the original PlayStation and later became a part of SCE Worldwide Studios. The company was the oldest and second largest development house within SCE's European stable of developers, and became best known for franchises such as Lemmings, Wipeout, Formula One, and Colony Wars.

Psygnosis

DMA Design was founded in Dundee, Scotland in 1987 by David Jones, soon hiring former classmates Mike Dailly, Russell Kay, and Steve Hammond. During its early years, DMA Design was backed by its publisher Psygnosis, primarily focusing on Amiga, Atari ST and Commodore 64 games. During this time, they created successful shooters such as Menace and Blood Money, but soon turned to platform games after the release of Lemmings in 1991, which was an international success and led to several sequels and spin-offs. After developing Unirally for Nintendo, DMA Design was set to become one of their main second-party developers, but this partnership ended after Nintendo's disapproval of Body Harvest.

In 1997, DMA released Grand Theft Auto, which was a huge success; the game sparked a successful series. The company was soon acquired by Gremlin Interactive. Following the release of Grand Theft Auto 2, Gremlin was acquired by Infogrames. After the Infogrames acquisition, the DMA Design assets were sold to Take-Two Interactive. In 2001, after the release of Grand Theft Auto III, DMA Design was ultimately renamed Rockstar North and became part of the Rockstar Games label.

The Philips CD-i port of Lemmings is pretty similar to the original release. However there are a few changes, most notably the brand new 2 minute long intro movie that completely changes the scene. Also, the UI is slightly tweaked and the soundtrack/SFX are of higher quality, with the soundtrack even getting slightly rerecorded with additional instruments. Unfortunately, the frame rate is incredibly, incredibly slow and choppy as well, making this a pretty undesirable port.
