Atari Games was an American producer of arcade games. It was originally the coin-operated arcade game division of Atari and was split off into its own company in 1984.

On November 19, 1999, Atari Games Corporation was renamed Midway Games West Inc., resulting in the Atari Games name no longer being used.

At different times, the company was called Atari Games, Inc. and Atari Games Corporation, and operated with the labels of Tengen and Time Warner Interactive.

Atari Games

Tengen was a subsidiary of Atari Games Corporation under which home conversions of Atari Games' arcade games were developed and published. Tengen also published conversions of other manufacturers' arcade games, including Sega, Namco and Toaplan. Most of Tengen's NES releases were not licensed by Nintendo and Tengen faced a lawsuit because of this. In the early 1990s, Tengen also published several original games from various developers. The Tengen division was renamed to Time Warner Interactive (California) Inc. after Time Warner bought Atari Games Corporation in 1993.

After the business was sold to WMS Industries, the name was reverted to Tengen, Inc. However, the company was inactive until it was finally dissolved in 1999.

Klax is a 1989 computer puzzle game designed by Dave Akers and Mark Stephen Pierce. The object is to line up colored blocks into rows of similar colors to make them disappear, to which the object of Columns is similar. Atari Games originally released it as a coin-op follow up to Tetris, about which they were tangled in a legal dispute at the time.
