Rare Replay

Rare Replay is a 2015 compilation of 30 video games previously developed by Rare and its predecessor, Ultimate Play the Game, in their 30-year combined history. The emulated games span multiple genres and consoles - from the ZX Spectrum to the Xbox 360 - and retain the features and errors of their original releases with minimal edits. The compilation adds cheats to make the older games easier and a Snapshots mode of specific challenges culled from parts of the games. Player progress is rewarded with behind-the-scenes footage and interviews about Rare's major and unreleased games.

GoldenEye 007 is added to the game library of anyone who purchases a digital copy of Rare Replay.

Upon GoldenEye 007's release on Xbox One/Series consoles, it was retroactively added to the game library of anyone with a prior purchase of a digital copy.

But before you make yourself the richest person in the whole Universe, remember to refuel your Spaceship - with 6 fuel pods - every time you land on a planet. Any other goodies you collect are yours to keep. Upon landing, you will find yourself equipped with the very latest Hydrovac Jet Pac, which can automatically air lift almost any rocket
stage, fuel pod or valuables that you care to land upon, and release them over the rocket ship base. Don't forget your mega-powerful, Quad Photon Laser Phasers can blast any nasty, mean aliens who might object to your visit.

Lunar Jetman

Lunar Jetman is a shooter video game developed and published by Ultimate Play The Game. It was released for the ZX Spectrum in 1983 and the BBC Micro in 1984.[1] The game is the second instalment of the Jetman series and one of the few games released to support the Currah Microspeech peripheral. In the game, Jetman has to destroy alien bases whilst simultaneously defending himself, along with Earth, from a hostile alien race.

Lunar Jetman was Ultimate Play The Game's first game to require 48K of RAM - all previous games had run on unexpanded 16K models. The game was written by Chris Stamper with graphics designed by Tim Stamper. The game was followed by a third instalment, Solar Jetman: Hunt for the Golden Warpship, released for the NES in 1990. The game was met with critical acclaim upon release, with praise mostly directed at its addictive gameplay and wide range of colours. It was later included in Rare's 2015 Xbox One retrospective compilation, Rare Replay.

Solar Jetman: Hunt for the Golden Warpship

Blasting off through the cosmos and into hostile alien terrain, Jetman has returned in his most ambitious adventure yet! After the most powerful spacecraft in the known Universe, the Golden Warpship, is disassembled by a band of ruthless Space Pirates and scattered throughout the galaxy, Solar Jetman is tasked with rebuilding the ship to its former glory. Aided only by the gargantuan Federation Mothership for refuelling, Jetman will have to explore twelve labyrinthine planets solo in his Jetpod, where opposition is hidden inside every cavern and beyond every crater. With survival running as thin as his fuel, Solar Jetman will need to ward off every potential invasion and escape with the Golden Warpship intact – only then can he face off against his largest interstellar foe yet!

Solar Jetman was re-released as part of the Rare Replay Collection on Xbox One.

Jetpac Refuelled

Jetpac Refuelled is the Xbox Live Arcade reworking of the classic 8 bit title Jetpac. The game was developed by Rare, who were responsible for the original game under their previous guise 'Ultimate - Play the Game'.

Ultimate Play The Game (often shortened to Ultimate) was a video game developer in the 1980s. 
Ultimate released a series of successful games for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, BBC Micro, MSX and Commodore 64 computers from 1983 until its closure in 1988. Ultimate are perhaps best remembered for the big-selling titles Jetpac and Sabre Wulf, each of which sold over 300,000 copies in 1983 and 1984 respectively, and their groundbreaking series of isometric arcade adventures utilising a technique termed Filmation. Knight Lore, the first of the Filmation games, has been retrospectively described in the press as "seminal ... revolutionary".

By the time of the label's last use in 1988 on a retrospective compilation, Ultimate had evolved into Rare, and moved on to developing titles for Nintendo consoles. Rare was purchased by Microsoft in 2002 for US$377 million, a record price for a video game developer, and now develops exclusively for Microsoft's Xbox One console. In 2006, Rare revived the "Ultimate Play The Game" name for an Xbox Live Arcade remake of Jetpac named Jetpac Refuelled.
