Sega Enterprises, Ltd. was the company that resulted from the merger of Nihon Goraku Bussan and Rosen Enterprises. This company was acquired by Gulf+Western in 1969, put under the control of Sega Enterprises, Inc. in 1974, and then sold to CSK in 1984. It also acquired Esco Boueki. While owned by CSK, Sega Enterprises established an American subsidiary still in operation. Sega Enterprises would change its name to Sega Corporation on November 1, 2000.

Working Designs was an American video game publisher that specialized in the localization of Japanese role-playing video games, strategy video games and top-down shooters for various platforms. Though the company had published many cult hits, it was known best to fans as the long-time exclusive North American publisher of the Lunar series. The company was one of the few game publishers that attempted to bridge the cultural gap between the Japanese and American video game industries during the 1990s with an eclectic selection of releases from various genres, and was also one of the earliest American publishers to make use of the CD-ROM format for full, spoken English dialogue in their titles at a time when voice acting was not a common feature in most mainstream games.

On December 12, 2005, Victor Ireland, President of Working Designs, announced via the company's message board that it was closing its doors. He later started a new company called Gaijinworks.

Working Designs

Sega Consumer Research and Development Dept. #2 (nicknamed Sega CS2, which it was officially renamed to in 1994) was a video game research and development division within Sega. As the name suggests, it was the second "consumer"-specific R&D department created by Sega Enterprises. It was responsible for first-party Sega Game Gear titles, certain Sega Mega Drive titles with international appeal, RPGs for the Mega-CD, and certain early Sega Saturn titles. Notable developers who got their start at CS2 include Tadashi Ihoroi, Kazufumi Ohashi and Shinichi Higashi. It was later followed up by another department named Sega CS2.

Full Release

Iron Storm is a traditional turn-based strategy game. The original Japanese release was the second entry in Sega's Advanced Daisenryaku series, with gameplay very similar to that of it's 16-bit predecessor, changing some details and using 3D animations for the combat cutscenes. The game uses a hex-based map and features fog-of-war, weather, unit experience, unit upgrading, supply, and other common strategy wargame features.

Unlike the previous game, three campaigns are available instead of one. Japanese, as well as United States forces can be commanded now in addition to German units. The scenarios that are played during a campaign can change depending on the battle results - a successful player may invade North America for example. There are also ten scenarios with pre-set forces separately available for selection in Standard Mode, during which the control of all involved armies can be switched to a human player.
