Welcome to the exciting new world of FaceBall 2000, where 3D graphics, first person perspective and 360° maneuverability make you feel like you're inside your video game! What you see is where you are, as you team up, compete with a friend or play alone against computer-controlled opponents.

Transport yourself inside the walls of CyberZone, where you'll be surrounded by menacing enemies lurking in a series of treacherous mazes. Or, enter the Arena where " Have a Nice Day" takes on a whole new meaning in fast-paced rounds of high-tech combat.

Wherever you go in FaceBall 2000, it's your chance to wipe the smiles off those annoying happy faces - and maybe a few of your friends - once and for all!

Faceball

Faceball is a cancelled port for the Nintendo Virtual Boy.

Even though the game was never released, a late stage prototype was released online. In the prototype 2 modes of play are available, “Normal”, which is the main 1-player game, and “Arena” which most likely would have been the 2-player mode that uses the link cable.

Faceball 2000 is a first-person shooter. You control a H.A.P.P.Y.F.A.C.E., or Holographically Assisted Physical Pattern Yielded For Active Computerized Embarkation. The graphics consist of flat shaded corridors. Enemies are all simple geometric shapes with smiley faces on them.

There are two modes of play. First there is a single player mode in which your goal is to find the exit to each level. There are 70 mazes in this mode. The second mode is the multiplayer arena. For the Game Boy: up to 4 Game Boys can be linked together in this mode.

Faceball 2000 DX

This is a color/enhancement hack of the technological marvel that is Faceball 2000. It features higher framerates, full color and fixed audio.

Founded in 1982, Riverhillsoft (リバーヒルソフト) was a video game developer and publisher who initially released software for Japanese home computers like the NEC PC-88. They later began producing home console games, focusing on systems like the PC Engine (TurboGrafx-16) and Sony PlayStation.

The company first found its niche in graphic adventure games (J.B. Harold: Murder Club) before expanding to create RPGs (Burai series) and early survival horror games (Doctor Hauzer). After expanding their offices in Fukuoka during the late-1990s, dwindling sales on PCs, consoles, and mobile platforms led to the company folding. Most of its staff left to form Althi, Inc.; original co-founder and lead creator Rika Suzuki moved to Cing and freelance contracting.

Bullet-Proof Software Inc. (BPS) was a Japanese video game developer founded in 1983 by Henk Rogers.

At first it would acquire fame by the creation of NEC PC-8801 RPG The Black Onyx, however fate would tie the company with the involvement of the Famicom and Game Boy versions of Tetris.

In 1996, Rogers would fund Blue Planet Software Inc. in Honolulu, Hawaii as a successor of the original Japanese company, they would continue developing Tetris games using the same BPS initials.

On February 22nd, 2001, Bullet-Proof Software would close it's doors.

MIDI Maze is a networked first-person shooter maze game for up to 16 players.

The game area occupies only roughly a quarter of the screen and consists of a first-person view of a flat-shaded maze with a crosshair in the middle. All players are shown as Pac-Man-like smiley avatars in various colors. Bullets are represented as small spheres. The game is said to have introduced deathmatch combat to gaming in 1987
