F1 Circus '92

A Formula One racing game for the PC Engine. The last of the F1 Circus games to be released for the system.

F1 Circus '92, sometimes known as F1 Circus '92: The Speed of Sound, is a racing game for the PC Engine and part of Nichibutsu's F1 Circus series. It is the fourth and last game in the series to be released on the PC Engine platform, and the seventh game in the series overall. Like its predecessors, it is officially licensed by the distributors of Formula One in Japan, and also has the rights to use the real names of teams/drivers.

The game again focuses on top-down races that move at great speed and require a lot of memorization and careful driving. The player can easily be forced to retire from the race early if they take too much damage from collisions with the walls or other drivers. There's a strong customization element as well, and the player can choose to play a Special mode that includes dialogue with NPCs between races.

F1 Circus

The first game in Nichibutsu's Formula One top-down racing series.

F1 Circus is a top-down Formula 1 racing game and the first game in Nihon Bussan's F1 Circus series. It was first released on the PC Engine in 1990, but a modified version - also partially based on this game's sequel, F1 Circus '91 - would later be released on the Famicom in 1992. As with every other game in the series, the game was never localized in North America or Europe.

The game uses the real life names of drivers and teams from Formula 1, like Nigel Mansell and Ferrari. The series would continue to acquire the various licenses needed to use real names from Formula 1.

Super F1 Circus Limited

Super F1 Circus Limited is largely identical to Cream's earlier Super Famicom racing game Super F1 Circus, however it was shortly after the release of that game that Cream was given permission by FOCA (Formula One Constructors' Union, an association of car manufacturers for Formula One) to use actual driver and team names for their subsequent Super F1 Circus games. Super F1 Circus Limited was quickly created to take advantage of this recent development.

With the exception of the use of actual drivers/team names, there is no significant difference between this version of the game and the earlier Super F1 Circus. The series would see a proper sequel on the Super Nintendo, with enhanced graphics and additional features, with Super F1 Circus 2 in 1993.

Super F1 Circus Gaiden

Super F1 Circus Gaiden is a "behind the exhaust" car racing game from Cream and Nichibutsu and the fifth and final Super Famicom game in the F1 Circus series, as well as the final game in that franchise overall.

The player competes for a chance to enter Formula 1 tournaments, but in the single-player mode must first graduate from GT (Group B) racing and Group C racing by completing races in those cars. In the multiplayer and time trial modes the player can choose any car category. The game has the standard assortment of customization options for their vehicles before starting a race, as well a number of different international tracks and race car drivers. Players have to be wary of taking too damage from collisions while racing, otherwise they will have to retire from the race early.

Super F1 Circus 3

Super F1 Circus 3 is a 1994 Formula One racing game and the third of Cream/Nichibutsu's F1 Circus games for the Super Famicom. It focuses on the 1993/94 season and recreates circuits from sixteen different countries. The game offers a "quick race" mode that randomly picks a track and avoids the majority of the simulation elements.

The game sits between Super F1 Circus 2 and Super F1 Circus Gaiden in the series. As with its predecessors, it has licenses from FOCA (the Formula One Constructors Association) and Fuji TV (the TV station that covers F1 in Japan) that allow it to depict actual teams/drivers from the Formula One World Championship. It was never released outside of Japan.

Super F1 Circus 2

Super F1 Circus 2 is a Formula One racing game that allows the player to join any team in the 1993 Formula One season and take part on sixteen different circuits all over the world. They can also configure the load-out for the F1 vehicle.

It is the second official F1 Circus game for the system, though technically the third due to 1992's Super F1 Circus Limited. Overall it is the eighth F1 Circus game.

Super F1 Circus

Super F1 Circus is a F1 racing game from Cream and Nichibutsu (Nihon Bussan) and the first Super Famicom entry in the F1 Circus entry, which originated on the PC Engine (Turbografx-16) and Famicom. It is sponsored by Team Lotus, a former racing company associated with Formula 1 as well as many other racing leagues that has recently come back into being.

The game is a traditional top-down racing game that emphasizes sim elements, such as selecting the car's various parts and ensuring that the rules of the race are followed. If the player causes too many infractions, or too much damage is caused to six vital instruments on the car, they will be forced out of the race.

As well as the other games in the F1 Circus series, Super F1 Circus would receive numerous direct sequels of its own. Super F1 Circus Limited came out later the same year.

F1 Championship Season 2000

F1 2012

As well as the new young driver test mode, F1 2012 features a new "Champions Mode", in which the six World Champions competing in the 2012 season — Kimi Räikkönen, Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button, Sebastian Vettel, Fernando Alonso and Michael Schumacher — will be styled after traditional end-of-level video gaming bosses, with the player challenged to beat them while racing in conditions that suit each driver.
Another new mode introduced, is the "Season Challenge" mode. Feedback given to Codemasters was that players only played the game when they had a few hours to play. In response, Codemasters brought in this mode so that players could simply play for a short amount of time. In this mode the player will start as a team lower down the field, and over a ten race season the player will move teams mid-season, depending on their ability to beat rival drivers and objectives.
Codemasters also introduced "One-Shot Qualifying", whereby a player has a single lap to qualify for the race. The three stage knock out session is still an option, however the single 20 minute session is no longer available in career mode. There is no longer an option to include all three practice sessions in a race weekend, but instead only a single hour session is available.

F1 2011

F1 2011 puts players in the driver's seat of the 2011 FIA Formula One World Championship, featuring all official teams, drivers, and circuits including the new Buddh International Circuit in India and the Nürburgring. Players can progress through a career mode to become World Champion, challenge others in split-screen and online multiplayer with up to 24 cars on track, or set records in Time Attack mode. The game incorporates 2011 season mechanics like KERS and DRS systems, while expanding the off-track experience with detailed paddock areas, media interactions, and post-race celebrations.

F1 2010

F-1 World Grand Prix

The game consists of five gameplay modes: Grand Prix, a course-by-course simulation of the 1997 season; Exhibition, a single race; Time Trial, a race against the clock and Challenge, which comprised real scenarios from the 1997 season-examples include trying to win the 1997 Hungarian Grand Prix as Damon Hill or beating Jean Alesi as David Coulthard in the 1997 Italian Grand Prix. The final mode allowed 2 players to compete in a single, split-screen race.

F-1 World Grand Prix II

F1 WGP 2 pretty much sports the same features as the first game. The game has 4 modes of play: the championship season mode, the exhibition race, time trials, and the challenge mode. R and Z are used to shift gears, the analog stick is used to steer the car, A is the accelerator and B is the brake. The C-buttons allow for camera changes and backmirror views. It's pretty much the same setup and how these work are pretty much unchanged from the first game to the second.

F1 Pole Position 64

The game featured all the tracks from that Formula One season, at a time when the racing began in Australia, and ended in Japan. Teams would be set up with relevant drivers, however there was a roster-feature included, which allowed the player to swap drivers from one team to another, and even removing a real driver and replacing him with unknown drivers named Driver 1-6.

Grand Prix Mode allowed players to progress through the racing calendar, you could also choose single races or a time trial on various tracks. Battle mode allowed you to pick who you wanted to race against over a however many laps you chose.

F1 Circus '91

TurboGrafx-16/PC Engine

A Formula One licensed racing game for the PC Engine and the second game in Nichibutsu's F1 Circus series.

F1 Circus '91 is a top-down Formula One racing game with a strong simulation element. Players kit out their vehicle, take on various prominent Formula One competitors of the era in races that track the vehicle's damage and fuel. Due to the high speeds involved, players need to pay attention to flashing icons that indicate turns coming up in the road.

The game followed 1990's F1 Circus and was followed by 1992's F1 Circus '92. The series would then move to the Super Famicom as Super F1 Circus.
