Dreams: VR

This major update introduced virtual reality to Dreams. Media Molecule released a new collection of short games called "Inside the Box", which included an art gallery, motion-controlled maze puzzles, a speedrun shooter and a puzzle platformer.

Users could design their own creations using a Playstation VR headset and optional Playstation Move controllers. Most dreams could be played in VR, even if they weren't created in it.

Dreams: Dragons, Dungeons & Templates

This update to Dreams included a new game and an overhaul of the creation experience. Media Molecule released "Ancient Dangers: A Bat's Tale", a dungeon-crawling action game featuring orcs and new PlayStation trophies. It couldn't be played in VR, but was one of the few Dreams creations that supported local co-op.

Templates were released that allowed people to quickly created themed dreams. These included mini golf courses, speedrun challenges, 2D platformers, shmups, and a fully featured toolkit to modify their dungeon-crawling game into something new.

Media Molecule is a British video game developer based in Guildford in Surrey. The studio was founded on 4 January 2006 by former Lionhead Studios employees Mark Healey, Alex Evans, David Smith and Kareem Ettouney. Before starting the company, the founders from Lionhead Studios worked together on Healey's independent game Rag Doll Kung Fu while still at Lionhead.

On 2 March 2010, Sony Computer Entertainment announced that it had acquired Media Molecule.

Dreams is a game designed to unleash players’ creativity, turning the PS4 into the Creative console.

It’s both a playful sandbox game and an endless explorative journey where players can create and share their dreams, and then surf an endless dreamiverse of single assets, games, animation, music and everything in between. The thing that unites everything is the feeling of being in a dream.

Music, animation, films, and art created in Dreams can be used outside of the game for both personal and commercial purposes, with some limitations.
