Atari: 80 Classic Games in One!

Atari - 80 Classic Games in One!, also called Atari: The 80 Classic Games, is a collection of 80 video games previously published by Atari, Inc. and Atari Corporation, reproducing Atari's games from its arcade and Atari 2600 game console platforms. Many games permit one to play each title at varying speeds, with time limits, or with a shifting color palette.

Extra contents include original arcade artwork and scans of the instruction manuals for the Atari 2600 games, video interviews with Atari co-founder Nolan Bushnell, Windows desktop themes, DirectX 9 runtime, Adobe Reader 5.1 English version.

Support for Stelladaptor 2600 to USB interface, and 24-bit colour wallpapers for Asteroids, Centipede, Missile Command, Pong, Super Breakout and Tempest themes are available as patches.

Atari Flashback X

The Atari Flashback X was released in 2019 and attempts to capitalize on the mini console trend, started by releases like the NES Classic Edition and Sega Genesis Mini, by being a near perfect physical replica of an Atari 2600 in miniature form. Like the previous releases, it was built by AtGames.

The basic model includes two wired controllers and 110 games. The deluxe model includes 10 additional games. A firmware update through the AtGames website allows both models to download more games.

Atari Flashback 2+

It includes 20 classic Atari 2600 games and 20 new Atari games. The game lineup is mostly the same as the original Flashback 2. However, games such as Pitfall!, River Raid, and Wizard do not appear, and are instead replaced by sports games.
A third hidden game, Circus Atari, was added.

Atari Flashback 4

The Atari Flashback 4 was released by AtGames on November 13, 2012. The console looks similar to its predecessor, but includes wireless joystick controllers. Like its predecessor, the Flashback 4 uses emulation. The console increased its library to 75 games, 15 more than the Flashback 3.

AtGames also released several alternate versions, including the Atari Flashback 4: 40th Anniversary Deluxe Edition. This included a set of replica Atari 2600 paddles, five collectible posters, and a copy of the original Atari joystick patent signed by Nolan Bushnell. AtGames also developed the Atari Flashback 64, a Walmart exclusive version with wired controllers and only 64 games, including Space Invaders. Some versions of the Flashback 4 include a 76th "bonus" game, Millipede.

Atari Flashback 6

The Atari Flashback 6 was released on September 15, 2015. Like the previous three releases, it was built by AtGames. It is the same as the Flashback 5 with the infrared wireless joysticks, but it adds 8 more games, increasing the total to 100 games.

The original Atari, Inc., founded in Sunnyvale, California, in 1972 by Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney, was a pioneer in arcade games, home video game consoles, and home computers. The company's products, such as Pong and the Atari 2600, helped define the electronic entertainment industry from the 1970s to the mid-1980s.

Negotiating until close to midnight on July 1, 1984, Jack Tramiel purchased the home computing and game console divisions of Atari for $240 million in promissory notes and stocks. Warner gained a 20% stake in Tramel Technologies, which was renamed Atari Corporation. Warner retained the arcade division, continuing it under the name Atari Games, but sold it to Namco in 1985. Warner also sold the Ataritel division to Mitsubishi.

Intellivision Entertainment, LLC. was founded by Tommy Tallarico in May 29th, 2018 after acquiring the rights of the Intellivision brand from Intellivision Productions, Inc.

In 2018 they announced the crowdfunding campaign of their console Intellivision Amico, it was originally slated to be released in October 2020, but repeated delays followed, leaving the console without a release date. The console's wireless controllers would have a touchscreen on them, and would allow smartphones to be used as controllers for games. Games would be required to have a maximum rating of E10+ on the ESRB ratings scale, meaning that games would be completely focused on targeting families. The console would have an RFID system in it that allows for payments from credit cards to be easily processed for new game purchases and would allow easy sharing of games between consoles and friends. Tallarico announced that the company would be licensing Atari games for the console. An exclusive new Earthworm Jim game was also revealed to be in development for the console, and Intellivision Entertainment was paying a number of studios for exclusive games for the console. At this point in the development process, the console was expected to be priced between $149 and $179.

At a conference in Dubai in 2019, Tallarico revealed that the company was launching a Dubai office and was planning on releasing the console at the same time in the Middle East as it was going to in the rest of the world.

Pre-orders were opened in April 2020, and Intellivision Entertainment revealed that it had sold over 10,000 pre-orders of its "VIP edition" of the console; it was priced at $249 for black and white versions and $279 for a woodgrain version. The console received a further $5.5 million from a campaign on crowdfunding site. An October 10, 2020 release date was announced. Tallarico noted that the company had to stop taking retail purchase orders because of supply chain issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and had to make development kits by hand in California instead of the planned manufacture in China. Customers were required to place a refundable $100 deposit in order to reserve the consoles.

In May 2020, it was announced former Microsoft executive and Xbox co-founder J Allard had joined Intellivision Entertainment to serve as the company's global managing director, assisting the company in launching the Amico. He left months later and said the role was "not a good fit." Despite this, Tallarico noted the hiring of Allard during an investment call in March 2021 even though Allard had already left. This led to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to send a letter for clarification to Intellivision Entertainment to clarify when Allard had left the company.

In February 2022, Tallarico stepped down from his role as CEO of Intellivision, remaining on board as the company's president and largest shareholder. He was replaced by the company's former chief revenue officer Phil Adam. In a statement provided to IGN, the company said the management shift was to better align its resources to face the new challenges of commencing production of the Amico.

In April 2022, some pre-orders of the Amico were cancelled, including some ordered via GameStop.[29] In June, Intellivision cut staff and licensed IP, both aimed at keeping the project viable, with the company stating that it still aims to launch the console.

On July 4, 2022, publications reported that the Intellivision Amico trademark had been abandoned. On July 7, 2022, an update by Nintendo Life to its July 4 article stated that the Intellivision Amico trademark was renewed, "rather than request a further extension on the existing trademark, Intellivision has instead opted to file for a brand new one as of June 30th, 2022."

In November 2023, Intellivision said that it had insufficient funds needed to finance the production of the console units. To secure finances, a mobile application titled Amico Home was launched, allowing for gameplay of select Amico titles on Android and, eventually, iOS.

In May 2024 Atari SA announced their purchase of the Intellivision brand and its assets. The Amico was not included in the sale and would be renamed, although Atari would allow to license the Intellivision library for it.

Circus Atari

Circus was one of the first games produced by Exidy that used a CPU (6502) to control the game logic instead of hand-crafted hard-coded logic circuits. It ran on a black & white monitor with a color overlay that gave each row of balloons at the top of the screen a different color. It was designed and programmed by Edward Valeau and Howell Ivey of Exidy in 1977.

Circus came in an upright dedicated cabinet, and may have also been available in a cocktail configuration as well. Circus machines had white sides with red painted sideart of several balloons in flight. The front of the machine was decorated with a large ornate monitor bezel that also doubled as a marquee (or nameplate). This bezel showed several clowns in a circus scene and had the game title spelled out with multicolored balloons. The control panel was unadorned, save for an analog spinner and a start button. The whole machine was finished off in black T-molding.

At least 13,000 units, possibly as many as 20,000, were produced.

3 rows of triangular balloons move along the top part of the screen, each overlaid with blue, green, and yellow (colors used in the original version), counting from the top row. A clown appears from the edge of the screen where there is a jumping board, and the player must move the seesaw located at the bottom of the screen so that the clown can bounce back off the seesaw once he jumps off from his starting position. If the player successfully gets the clown onto the seesaw, the clown on the other side shoots off into the air towards the 3 rows of balloons on the top of the screen. The clown may not have enough speed to reach the balloons if the first clown does not land squarely on the seesaw. Clowns bounce off of balloons, walls, and jumping boards, but will pass directly through multiple balloons if they are moving quickly enough. They will only bounce off the jumping boards when they are heading downwards, and will pass straight through the boards while moving upwards.
