Carmageddon 1 was released last year amongst "just a tiny bit" of controversy, with calls to "ban this killer car game" from the media around the world, and then went on to prove its critics wrong by scooping a body bag full of awards from around the globe. Developed once again, by the patients of Parkhurst prison's clinically insane wing, known as Stainless Software, Carmageddon 2 - Carpocalypse Now, is destined to make computer gaming history again. Let's face it, Carmageddon 1 caused a blood storm in a teacup, this time prepare for a full-on tidal wave.

Carmageddon 2 - Carpocalypse Now will take players to the next level of gameplay, whether you are trying to hold down your lunch after taking out those pedestrians waiting for a bus, or franticly trying to re-build your car after having your butt kicked by one of the GAME'S AI opponents, Carmageddon 2 - Carpocalypse Now will take you to the edge and further as you race your way through 1998's greatest driving game.

Carmageddon: Reincarnation

Carmageddon: Reincarnation (previously known as Carmageddon 4) is the fourth vehicular combat game in the Carmageddon series. The game was developed by Stainless Games, who also made Carmageddon and Carmageddon II: Carpocalypse Now.

Carmageddon TDR 2000

Carmageddon TDR 2000 has been designed from the ground up for Internet playing. Unique arenas and play modes, packed full of highly charged AI computer players, will add a whole new dimension for serious gamers.

The focus of the game is centred around fast action gameplay in a completely new 'immersive' environment- far more advanced than in any previous driving game on the PC.

With loads of new features such as aggressive characters, real-time reflections and incredible graphics, Carmageddon TDR 2000 will kick you harder than ever before giving you the option to do well whatever you want.

Carmageddon: Splat Pack

Carmageddon: Splat Pack is the only official expansion pack for Carmageddon. Released in 1997, it added several new cars, power-ups and levels.

Carmageddon 64

Carmageddon 64 was a port of Carmageddon II, released for the Nintendo 64 video game console in 2000. It was developed by Software Creations, and due to be published by Interplay, but it was published by Titus Entertainment after they bought the company.

The game featured opponents and levels from Carmageddon II, as well as a couple of exclusive characters.

Carmageddon: Max Damage

In Carmageddon, the player races a vehicle against a number of other computer controlled competitors in various settings, including city, mine and industrial areas. The player has a certain amount of time to complete each race, but more time may be gained by collecting bonuses, damaging the competitors' cars or by running over pedestrians.

Races are completed by either completing the course as one would a normal racing game, "wasting" (wrecking) all other race cars, or killing all pedestrians on the level.

The game was notable for its realistic and ground-breaking physics and for its in-game movie making features. It was also one of the earliest examples of sandbox 3D driving games, and may have influenced other later games including Driver and the Grand Theft Auto series.

The version of Carmageddon 64 released in Germany has the pedestrians changed to dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals as a censorship measure.

They were primarily known for their video games based on movie and comic licences like Marvel Comics, Cutthroat Island, Disney's Beauty and the Beast and the original titles Plok, Solstice, and its sequel Equinox.
