Atari: 80 Classic Games in One!

Atari - 80 Classic Games in One!, also called Atari: The 80 Classic Games, is a collection of 80 video games previously published by Atari, Inc. and Atari Corporation, reproducing Atari's games from its arcade and Atari 2600 game console platforms. Many games permit one to play each title at varying speeds, with time limits, or with a shifting color palette.

Extra contents include original arcade artwork and scans of the instruction manuals for the Atari 2600 games, video interviews with Atari co-founder Nolan Bushnell, Windows desktop themes, DirectX 9 runtime, Adobe Reader 5.1 English version.

Support for Stelladaptor 2600 to USB interface, and 24-bit colour wallpapers for Asteroids, Centipede, Missile Command, Pong, Super Breakout and Tempest themes are available as patches.

Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration

Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration takes players on an interactive journey through 50 years of video games via interviews with designers, developers and industry leaders, documentary footage, product design documents, high-resolution original artwork, and a specially-curated list of more than 90 playable games.

At the heart of Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration are the Interactive Timelines, which combine historical trivia, digital artifacts, all-new video interviews, and playable games into one singular experience. When you encounter a game in the Timeline, you can immediately play it without losing your place.

The massive list of games spans six original Atari console and home computer platforms and generations of arcade titles, the most ever included in a collection by the team at Digital Eclipse. For the first time ever, games from the cult favorite Atari Jaguar and Atari Lynx platforms will be playable on modern consoles. Behind every game are the stories of Atari, what was happening at the company, what went into the creation of the games and the hardware on which they ran, all told by the people who were there. It is a rare opportunity to get a rich behind-the-scenes look at the history of video games.

In addition to presenting these Atari classics exactly as they were, the talented team at Digital Eclipse has also created the Reimagined series—six new games that revisit, mash-up and reimagine Atari Classics. Each of these new games is included in Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration.

Tiny Arcade: Atari 2600

Atari

The Atari Joystick Controller TV Video Game System was made in 2003 in Jakks Pacific's Plug It In & Play TV Games plug-n-play game system lineup. The device itself is designed to look like the joystick used on the Atari 2600.

Atari Flashback X

The Atari Flashback X was released in 2019 and attempts to capitalize on the mini console trend, started by releases like the NES Classic Edition and Sega Genesis Mini, by being a near perfect physical replica of an Atari 2600 in miniature form. Like the previous releases, it was built by AtGames.

The basic model includes two wired controllers and 110 games. The deluxe model includes 10 additional games. A firmware update through the AtGames website allows both models to download more games.

Atari Flashback 4

The Atari Flashback 4 was released by AtGames on November 13, 2012. The console looks similar to its predecessor, but includes wireless joystick controllers. Like its predecessor, the Flashback 4 uses emulation. The console increased its library to 75 games, 15 more than the Flashback 3.

AtGames also released several alternate versions, including the Atari Flashback 4: 40th Anniversary Deluxe Edition. This included a set of replica Atari 2600 paddles, five collectible posters, and a copy of the original Atari joystick patent signed by Nolan Bushnell. AtGames also developed the Atari Flashback 64, a Walmart exclusive version with wired controllers and only 64 games, including Space Invaders. Some versions of the Flashback 4 include a 76th "bonus" game, Millipede.

Atari Flashback 6

The Atari Flashback 6 was released on September 15, 2015. Like the previous three releases, it was built by AtGames. It is the same as the Flashback 5 with the infrared wireless joysticks, but it adds 8 more games, increasing the total to 100 games.

Atari Anthology

The home console counterpart of Atari: 80 Classic Games in One!, this version had Basic Programming, Codebreaker and A Game of Concentration replaced by Atari Video Cube, Backgammon and Hangman.

Breakout

The objective of the game is to destroy a multilayered wall of bricks at the top the screen. Upon hitting the bricks with a ball which bounces off of a paddle at the bottom of the screen the bricks are destroyed. If the player misses the ball with his horizontally moveable paddle the ball is lost. After loosing five balls the game is over.

Super Breakout

Super Breakout is an arcade game released by Atari in 1978. It utilizes a Motorola M6502 (running up at 375 KHz) and, as the name suggests, is the sequel to Breakout, which was released two years earlier. There are three different modes to choose from: Double Breakout, the playfield for which contains in fifty-two orange blocks (5-14 points), fifty-two green blocks (1-6 points), two paddles and two balls, Cavity Breakout, which contains in forty-four orange blocks (7-21 points), and fifty-two green blocks (1-9 points), one paddle, and three balls (the second and third of which have to be freed before they come into play) and Progressive Breakout which contains fifty-two blue blocks (7 points) and fifty-two green blocks (5 points), one paddle, and one ball - and the blocks shall be lowered down towards the paddle, at a rate determined by the number of times the ball lands on your paddle, but as the ball destroys them, additional rows of blocks shall appear at the top of the screen and be lowered down towards the paddle at an increasing rate. This is also the only mode for which it's possible for a player to receive an infinite amount of points by playing, but the score display shall roll over at 10000.

Breakout 2000

SMASH! POW! CRUNCH! Is your hand/eye coordination up to demolishing field after field of bricks? Breakout 2000 brings back the nostalgia of early gaming days but adds 90's challenges, such as a three-dimensional field and bricks that resist breaking, as well as many powerups and hazards. You can also test your skill against a buddy. Break through your own wall and start working on his. You'll gain bonus points, and he'll go nuts! Who ever said life was fair never played Breakout 2000.

Videocart-17: Pinball Challenge

Although the title of the game may lead players to believe it's a pinball game, this is actually a Breakout variant. The basic gameplay features the player bouncing a ball off of a paddle into a wall of bricks, chipping them off one brick at a time. Each brick destroyed earns the player points with the low green bricks being worth 1 point each, the middle blue bricks being worth 4 points each, and the red bricks on top rewarding 7 points each. Once the ball bounces off the wall of bricks, it's up to the player to maneuver the paddle under the falling ball in order to hit it back up into the wall of bricks. The player loses a life if he happens to miss hitting the ball with his paddle and it falls into the abyss. The game ends when 7 balls are lost. To keep up with the pinball motif, the wall of bricks are referred to as different colored skill lanes, the walls on the side that the ball can bounce off of are labeled side rails, and the paddle is referred to as a flipper.

The game offers 132 game variations of this basic gameplay idea, some of them for two simultaneous players. Game modes include Pinball Wiz, Crossover, Blok-Shot, Cooperation, Pro Challenge, and Double Blok, with each having variations that can include different sized paddles, ball speeds, invisible bricks, and even a variation where the paddle shrinks each time it hits the ball.

This preprogrammed cartridge plugs into the console of the Fairchild Video Entertainment System for more TV fun. Pinball wizards get ready for a real tilt. You'll flip over these 132 game variations for 1 and 2 players.

This 2022 re-imagining of the Atari classic Breakout for the Atari 50 collection features progression from black and white to colorful and progressively more difficult multi-ball stages, as well as a 2-player Battle Breakout mode reminiscent of Pong.

Arcade Game Piggy Bank: Atari Breakout

When the first fully-assembled Apple II systems began shipping in June 1977, a single tape cassette was included, containing demonstration programs written in Integer BASIC by Steve Wozniak. Notably, one side of the tape held the first Apple II version of Breakout, inspired by Wozniak's own work on Atari's blockbuster arcade game of the same title.

The original Atari, Inc., founded in Sunnyvale, California, in 1972 by Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney, was a pioneer in arcade games, home video game consoles, and home computers. The company's products, such as Pong and the Atari 2600, helped define the electronic entertainment industry from the 1970s to the mid-1980s.

Negotiating until close to midnight on July 1, 1984, Jack Tramiel purchased the home computing and game console divisions of Atari for $240 million in promissory notes and stocks. Warner gained a 20% stake in Tramel Technologies, which was renamed Atari Corporation. Warner retained the arcade division, continuing it under the name Atari Games, but sold it to Namco in 1985. Warner also sold the Ataritel division to Mitsubishi.

ASCII Corporation, Ltd. was a Japanese publishing company based in Chiyoda, Tokyo. It became a subsidiary of Kadokawa Group Holdings in 2004, and merged with another Kadokawa subsidiary MediaWorks on April 1, 2008, becoming ASCII Media Works. The company published Monthly ASCII as the main publication. ASCII is best known for creating the Derby Stallion video game series, the MSX computer, and the RPG Maker line of programming software.
