"Hironobu Sakaguchi, the Father of the Final Fantasy series, and Artoon present the world of Blue Dragon on Xbox 360. Featuring the character design of Akira Toriyama, the Father of "Dragon Ball Z", and music by Nobuo Uematsu, the composer for Final Fantasy, Blue Dragon is an epic role-playing game (RPG) centered on five youngsters who possess miraculous strength and magical power to control shadow creatures that mirror the actions of their masters."

Blue Dragon follows the story of five friends (Shu, Jiro, Kluke, Zola, and Marumaro) as they travel across the world to confront Nene, the evil ruler of the Grand Kingdom. The setting inspired separate anime and manga adaptations, although these follow the story to different degrees and feature a different cast of characters. The game follows a traditional role-playing design, based around exploration and turn-based combat.

The gameplay of Blue Dragon uses turn-based gameplay elements seen in older Japanese role-playing video games. The game world contains two major types of areas: towns, in which the player can rest and purchase items, and dungeon-like areas, with numerous foes to be defeated.

Blue Dragon Plus

A direct sequel to Blue Dragon that takes place a year after the first games events.

The game uses a real-time strategy style with characters being moved around a map using the stylus on the bottom screen and fighting enemies when they are close enough to attack.

Blue Dragon: Awakened Shadow

Awakened Shadow is designed to take full advantage of the Nintendo DS capabilities allowing players to engage in impressive boss battles with up to two friends and earn and trade items via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection in multiplayer mode. Players will be able to attack enemies faster than ever before with upgraded weapons and powerful Shadows, which can be switched for tactical advantages. Players will roam a 3D open world environment across several unique “cube” worlds as they take on formidable Otherworld bosses, complete multiple challenges, and recruit over a dozen characters in their own custom adventure.

Blue Dragon: Shuffle Dungeon

Shuffle Dungeon has arrived! This new content features a mysterious dungeon that changes every time you enter. Along with more than 30 new items, powerful monsters, and more than 10 new hard-to-beat bosses, there are certainly some challenges in store for you! Are you up for it? (Recommended Starting Level: 50 or higher. Supports Hard and Impossible game modes.) Note that you will need to be near the end of the game, and have saved that game, in order to enter a Warp Cube to Shuffle Dungeon.…

Mistwalker Corporation is an American-Japanese video game development studio.

The company was founded in 2004 by Hironobu Sakaguchi, best known for creating the Final Fantasy series. The company has created both game franchises such as Blue Dragon and Terra Battle, and standalone titles including Lost Odyssey (2007) and The Last Story (2011).

With the financial problems caused by Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, and his growing dissatisfaction with management, Sakaguchi decided that he wanted to make games outside Square. Mistwalker's first two titles were Xbox 360 RPGs; Blue Dragon (2006) and Lost Odyssey.

Following The Last Story for Wii, Sakaguchi and Mistwalker changed to focus on in-house mobile titles. The original Terra Battle saw widespread success and acclaim, leading to further mobile projects.

In 2021 they released Fantasian, an Apple Arcade exclusive RPG built with dioramas as background images. In June 2024 it was revealed a remaster of the game titled Fantasian Neo Dimension would be released on consoles, and Sakaguchi’s team reunited with SquareEnix’s Naoki Yoshida from Creative Studio III to make this production a reality.

Bird Studio (バードスタジオ Bādo Sutajio) is a manga and design production studio created by Akira Toriyama that is based in Nagoya, Japan. The studio was founded in 1983, following the success of Toriyama's Dr. Slump series.

This firm would cover game productions including Dragon Quest, Tobal No.1, Chrono Trigger, and Blue Dragon.

They have assisted several companies on CG cutscene and modeling assistance. They have collaborated with many grand companies such as Capcom, Konami, The Pokemon Company, Atlus, SEGA, and SquareEnix.
